The new vision based system in the US actually looks to be a lot better than what they had before with USS. Just they've not shipped it to UK yet and not sure when they will. It's in the FSD branches I believe which are on older firmware than we have here.

Honestly it's really easy. I'd just learn how to move your wheel, mirrors, put it into gear and then head off on the day. Then park up when you can and just geek out for half an hour through all the menus. There's nothing much you need to do but a lot you might want to look at and play with or try.

It is very impressive but the jump to removing the steering wheel completely is a big jump. Have to agree that's a good ways off. Also how many people will be happy to jump into a car with no driver or steering wheel as a taxi. We cannot have Self flying planes or even Self driving trains...

Obviously their vision approach doesn’t always work well, wipers for instance. Others it does work out reasonably well but also can take years to get there. I don’t miss radar and the lack of USS seems much less of an issue at this point.
