    Shorting Oil, Hedging Tesla

Is it safe to say that Norway is a microcosm to what the world will be by 2030? I realize Norway accelerated their adoption with heavy incentives, but I feel like they are a proof of concept that EVs can work for the masses.

What should my ideal charge percentage be?

Power (horsepower or kw) is a factor of volts x amps. The battery voltage drops as the SOC drops so lower volts = less power. Tesla programs their inverter to increase the amps as the volts drop to try and maintain the same power output, but this can only get so much. Once the amps are...

Faster supercharges killing AC on Model X

I believe the Model X has motorized flaps in the front that are supposed to open when AC is running and close when not for better aerodynamics. Maybe the flaps are stuck shut and it's compromising the system? Should be easy to inspect DIY

    Service Center - Cherry Hill

If you're going to have it towed anyway, why not go for it and then call the tow if it dies?

In car camera. Should I cancel my Tesla order?

I think the inside camera is only tied to FSD.

Lots of questions about the new base Model Y coming out of Texas

If I recall correctly, back when there was a Model S that was software-locked, the charge screen didn't have the "daily/trip" markers. If the 4680 still shows the daily vs trip, it is probably not software locked....unless they are just playing the game and trying to keep the secret.

Lots of questions about the new base Model Y coming out of Texas

The following article shows the 4680 edition's weight being 178lbs lighter than the 2170 LR --> https://teslanorth.com/2022/06/09/texax-tesla-model-y-with-4680-battery-gets-weighed-on-truck-scale-lighter-than-fremont-builds/

    Supercharger - Philadelphia, PA

Would you say those Penrose users are Hertz/Uber drivers? My guess is that's what's clogging them up. The other Philly chargers are in paid parking garages so the Ubers aren't going to use those for obvious reasons. And I'm guessing most Hertz/Uber drivers don't have charging provisions at home...

What should my ideal charge percentage be?

Insulated garage doors make a HUGE difference. My entire garage is fully insulated but not the doors originally. When I replaced the doors with insulated ones, the difference was very noticeable.

    100% charge or 90 or 95?

This is a great feature. Without it, some people might feel compelled to speed-up so they can hurry up and get to the charging station before they run-out.

    Hummer EV

DragTimes on YouTube just reviewed one. Defintely squats a lot during acceleration. He raced a Model Y performance and the Hummer edged it out by a little. Model 3P would be a closer race.

What should my ideal charge percentage be?

I'm guessing that this is specific to LFP batteries. I don't think all of Tesla's RWD vehicles have LFP batteries. Definitely not older Model S or the original Model 3. Maybe the current Model 3 RWD cars do? I'm not sure.

What should my ideal charge percentage be?

How do you know that your 12% degradation is accurate? Perhaps all of those 100% charges have balanced the pack and reset the algorithm to display your mileage more-correctly than those who didn't. It doesn't necessarily mean they have more degradation. It's just what your guess-o-meter shows...

Hyundai vs. Tesla | Why Hyundai Poses the Biggest EV Threat

I bought my Kona Limited in April of 2021. The MSRP was $43K. There was a $3K cashback from Hyundai at the time. The dealer took another $1K off MSRP for me as well (negotiating was still a thing back then). After federal and state incentives, my out the door cost was around $31K plus tax. As...

72A Home Charging - Super Hot Cable

Does time have any affect on this formula? I would think sustained charging would "heat soak" the cables as well. For instance, charging at 72A for 5 minutes would accumulate less heat in the cables than charging at 40A for 4 hours. But yes, higher amperage definitely generates more heat, more...
