    Questionable Bodyshop treatment of battery!!??

Sorry haven't posted for a while - have been mad busy with work and not had a chance to do an update. So the car came back - a week after I was told the repairs were completed. From a structural perspective the repairs are ok, once I'd reassembled the frunk hinge protection covers properly...

    Questionable Bodyshop treatment of battery!!??

The issue isn't so much with the letting the car run to 0% - as you rightly say there is a buffer protection to at least try and prevent any damage - the issue was more the way they have treated the car - it hasn't been offline once since 16th Feb as the bodyshop has a culture of not locking...

    Questionable Bodyshop treatment of battery!!??

I've had several more calls from the Insurance company over the last few days - interesting each of which repeats a new and mostly contradictory set of information from the previous one. Latest on Friday was that the parts that were on an unknown delivery date (and I received an email from the...

    Questionable Bodyshop treatment of battery!!??

I’ll happily name the garage, and provide extracts from all the absolute nonsense they’ve sent me once I’ve got my car back and accepted it as being in as-new condition. More comms from them this evening saying they still have no eta on the parts but will update me next week if they get an...

    Questionable Bodyshop treatment of battery!!??

It's time to name and shame the Insurance Company - just had another phonecall from them - they've spoken to their 'ANC' - they are claiming this garage does 60% of the Tesla repairs in the UK (but aren't listed on the Tesla website as an approved repairer) and are highly reputable , and there...

    Questionable Bodyshop treatment of battery!!??

Approved bodyshops have been able to put cars into service mode since mid 2019. Interestingly, mine has also chosen to remove the speed limiter when they put it into service mode (because that's needed to move a car in and out of a workshop to replace the front bumper)

    Questionable Bodyshop treatment of battery!!??

It's been a shambles since the start, but absolutely agree with you, and I even said this to the garage - all they had to do was acknowledge that someone parked the car next to the charger, but didn't plug it in, that they have a somewhat bizarre culture of not locking customer's cars which lead...

    Questionable Bodyshop treatment of battery!!??

Thanks for all the responses everyone - I won't name and shame either the Insurance company or the Garage publicly, on the off chance something comes back to bite me, but given there are relatively few insurers in the UK who claim to have specialist Tesla policies, and most of them are rebrands...

    Questionable Bodyshop treatment of battery!!??

So the saga continues - had an interesting call with the head office of the repair company. They had been sold a story of me constantly checking my app, looking at the cameras, and even more cock and bull. I had to explain at length exactly how teslamate works, that it is not the Tesla app that...

    Questionable Bodyshop treatment of battery!!??

To be fair, it's not difficult to treat the car better than this lot seem to have done :-)

    Questionable Bodyshop treatment of battery!!??

@Durzel yeah, was a toss up between call them out now before they do some damage, or wait until the car is back and then argue with them after. Fully wasn't expecting them to be so shady about it, could have lived with a "Joe Bloggs parked it next to the charger on Thursday but forgot to plug it...

    Questionable Bodyshop treatment of battery!!??

They've now tried to say it's my fault the battery drained, that I had the cameras on (even though their collection driver checked they were off before he picked it up, and I have the USB at home with me so they'd be pretty useless anyway). That and, that the technicians don't routinely lock...

    Questionable Bodyshop treatment of battery!!??

Not likely, I called them as soon as they opened this morning. Funnily enough, the car is now no longer communicating with Tesla.....they've since sent a shot showing that the car now has 105miles of range having been plugged in all morning - and even showing how many miles of range have been...

    Questionable Bodyshop treatment of battery!!??

That's awful, but just goes to show the ruthless nature of the no-win no-fee world. I'm fully expecting one to drop on my doorstep for emotional distress / compensation for loss of the dog soon enough, especially now it turns out there was insurance. To be fair, my insurance company have been...
