Did Tesla design cars to be able to take a range extender just incase?

I'm sure people will hold onto their ICE cars, that's not a bad thing. I think my point is if we cant do it in 2030 then we equally cant do it in 2035 or 2040. It just needs to be done, only impending doom will really get things moving at all.

Did Tesla design cars to be able to take a range extender just incase?

The challenge around chargers won't happen overnight on Jan 1 2030, there's at least another 3 years before its potentially a massive issue so 9 years from now, its resolvable, plenty of time.

Did Tesla design cars to be able to take a range extender just incase?

Reinstating the 2030 timeline is part of Labours published policy https://labour.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/WR-797_23-Automotive-strategy-v8.pdf Now I know that the current government doesn't have any track record of delivering election promises, but previous governments have done...

Did Tesla design cars to be able to take a range extender just incase?

It's a time to hold on EVs as far as I'm concerned, at the moment there is a lull as the desperate party will say anything it feels is right wing populism ahead of the election. Assuming bacon sandwiches are carefully avoided we will be back to a 2030 phase out and there will be far more...

    [UK] Spring Software Update

I've not found USS valuable at all, they hit their minimum ranges at something like 18" and then just say stop. I'll happily trade that for something that can 'see' the kerb.

Intelligent Octopus, charging, location and automation

I've no idea about the two charge limits, why doesn't it just sync with the car, it clearly can read the value. It certainly complains if the car is less than Octopus whatever that means. No idea how that effects the charging, I just set mine to match. If you used something like Home Assistant...

Intelligent Octopus, charging, location and automation

Once you remove the car there's a tile on the Home tab to start the setup again.

Intelligent Octopus, charging, location and automation

OK, I doubt that will interfere with the IO actions. Sounds like the car isn't registered properly to Octopus, I would delete and repeat the pairing.

What are you using to automate, and what value are you changing?

Daft Liverpool decision to ban EVs from car park

That is according to the hospital, who knows what they asked and what they were told. I doubt that Fire Prevention Officers would give out Facebook rumours. From what I read based on the reports from that big fire in a Liverpool multistorey sprinklers are predominantly to supress fuel fires...

Solar Panels UK - is it worth it?

Heatable claim their panels will generate more on average in UK weather conditions where you are unlikely to get the full wattage of the panel anyway, although I've not really seen them provide particularly scientific evidence of this. Solar panels do probably need some standardised testing to...

    [UK] Spring Software Update

I have USS and Ryzen, so not all but it was a fairly small window at the start of 2022. The UI we've seen already in the US is a toggle between USS and Tesla Vision, not a fusion of them both. This was a single example, there will be new features in the future that will be built for UI 12 and...

    [UK] Spring Software Update

I would suggest that the UI is there to serve all drivers and all cars, not to just meet your specific requirements and opinions. The 'big visualisation' is of very limited use to us in the UK, but probably more interesting to US, Canada, and soon China and Europe where FSD is coming soon...

Solar Panels UK - is it worth it?

Indeed, my installers fitted a battery powered smoke alarm, but I've added a heat alarm that's interlinked with the rest of the house. The installer first just stood the batteries on the rafters, but I complained and then came back to fit them through the backing board into the wall. Absolutely...
