    Sudden Battery drain

I’ve had significant battery drain while parked, 11.6% over 2 days. Granted, it was very cold outdoors and my car is parked in an unheated attached garage, but I still don’t expect it to drop that significantly. Reading this thread and others, I decided to power down the car and restart it...

    Performance cold weather range

Just to add to the consensus, you should be fine. I drive 80 miles round trip through the north Chicago area and even on the worst days (sub zero temps + snow/ice) the range hit was around 30%. I have a 2019 SR+ and assume winter real world range will be 200 to 180 miles depending upon...

Thoughts from current SR / SR+ / RWD owners

I like them! I am not able to quantify any range loss, but I suppose there’s a minor amount. Winter is tough on range, but now it’s summer and I’m still pulling 220 miles on 100% charge. I can’t tell any difference in noise. Wet traction is much better than OEM. It used to be that if I...

Thoughts from current SR / SR+ / RWD owners

Indeed, the Vredestein Quatracs are rated highly for snow, which was a leading factor in my purchase.

Thoughts from current SR / SR+ / RWD owners

OEM tires worked fine for me in Wisconsin, but I think my new Vredestein tires are better (still an all-season tire). I think all-seasons handle just fine.

    Creaking from Console

Mine did the same thing. I took it in to Tesla and it was the hinge to the upper lid. They shot a little graphite powder at the joints and the problem disappeared.

    Tires

So far the ride is very nice. Smooth and quiet (depending upon the road of course). I really don’t notice the difference between the OEM tires and those regarding noise. Grip seems really good on wet pavement. I actually experience less slipping. The OEMs could break loose easier rounding...

    Tires

I replaced my OEM Michelins at about the same mileage. Since I live in Wisconsin, and snow is a threat in winter, I opted to get some replacements. I probably could have driven longer on the OEMs if I had known there’d be practically no snow in my region this season, but I still have no...

I dare any California person to buy a Mazda-MX30!

They will likely sell more MX-30 plugin hybrids which have a rotary engine. I’m watching this one closely.

    Frozen door handles

My door handles were frozen once and, as you said, a gentle bump did the trick. I imagine if there were a thicker layer of ice on the door, it would be a problem, but then that would be a problem for any car.

19" Gemini [Mostly Winter] Tire Replacement - Vredestein Quatrac Pro?

Late to the discussion, but I am getting Quatracs installed on my M3 in a few days. Replacing my OEM MXM4s after nearly 27K. If I lived in a climate that didn’t snow regularly in the winter, I’d probably keep them, but Wisconsin will punish the unprepared. I’m surprised the reviews on this...

Power sharing recommendations for Tesla & J1772 cars

I’m reading the Tesla description regarding the J1772 version of the wall connector. Is it possible to connect a Gen2 Tesla connector to this J1772 and load share? I assume so, but the wording would imply only J1772 to J1772. The reason I ask is that I have a Gen2 wall connector powering my...

Need Help Convincing Spouse To Buy

In my household, we focus more on Tesla’s mission statement. I am aligned ideologically to Tesla’s mission, but cannot support the other American auto manufacturers anymore. So, less about the man and more about what the company supports. I know, sometimes it’s difficult to separate the two.

Should I get PPF on my new midnight silver Model 3?

It’s personal preference and no wrong answer. The way I see it is that I’m not putting my car in a show, so it really doesn’t make sense to protect it. I’m going to pound the piss out of the car with high mileage, so dings are going to a way of life. I don’t like it, but I can’t avoid them...
