Cali utilities propose Income Based electricity rates

Not sure if this has been talked about yet but it appears that PG&E... will start adding an extra charge to the bill depending on your income? Has anyone heard if we will pay a lower per KW rate? Or any other information. On the surface it looks like it might screw us over again but open for...

    Steering Wheel Retrofit - Questions

I ordered a steering wheel retrofit for my Model S Plaid having it shipped to the local service center. When I reach out to the service center they say they have no knowledge of the wheel and if it is even there. Tesla online ordering service will not email me back about status after a few...

Plaid Radar Detector install with switched power

I tried ordering the cables listed in the first post from Valentine. They called and said they could not sell to me because I don't have a serial number. Incase I stole their detector... I tried telling the lady it is just an extension cable not internal parts. She said no. Any other...

    Norcal heat wave

Can anyone explain the above website. Is that what PGE pays at any given time? Am I to assume that is cost per KW during the peak event?

    Failed solar/powerwall inspection

It might be to late but if that happens again have you or your installer ask the inspector for a code section that he is failing the inspection from. Quite often inspectors hear the from someone or think the code says something when there it is not there. Also pull up the code they site and...

Understanding What PG&E Pay’s For Excess Solar?

So looking at the plans and thanks to you all I switched to EV2A and I will try and use Balanced I think and see how that works. So I send back during peak times and have the batteries cover me until the peak is over at midnight. Also this video helped me understand if someone else reads this...

Understanding What PG&E Pay’s For Excess Solar?

I should have made it clearer. I can make it through peak no problem just not 100% self powered most of the time. During summer and off times when I have more solar I can be 100% self powered it is just during the winter months where I am around 60% to 70% self powered.

Understanding What PG&E Pay’s For Excess Solar?

So in an effort to figure out the best way to save money might be. Setup my system so it fills up the batteries by 3pm my peak time. Then all excess solar goes back to the grid at a higher rate in keeping enough available to get me through the peak times after the sun goes down? Is that how...

Understanding What PG&E Pay’s For Excess Solar?

Thank you for that helps. I am in Castro Valley, Hayward area. This leads to another question lets say I am +50 kw at peak and negative -50kw at non-peak. Do they close each other out? I guess I am trying to figure out what the best route would be to save money. Because if they are 1:1 why...

Understanding What PG&E Pay’s For Excess Solar?

I am new to getting my Tesla solar and power walls installed now that I have PTO I am trying to understand my PGE bill. I can’t wrap my head around what PGE does for excess solar power sent back to the grid. Some places I read they give 3 cents a kwh sent back. Looking at a bill example...

    Speed up PTO?

Just keep bugging them. Daily... they really are not good with managing the jobs. I would just turn the system on if you have not already. I did as soon as they where done and left before inspection...

    Ash = Zero solar today

    Generator Charging Powerwall?

I was seeing if anyone has ever charged their powerwalls off of a generator? Looking at my install it appears you can put a Manual Transfer Switch between the AC out of the Solar inverters and the Generation Panel. The gateway and powerwalls I think would think it was just solar power. It...
