    New tow hitch cover

It's really flexible. So much so that I snap it back on without a thought everytime after removing the bike carrier.

    New tow hitch cover

Got a May 21 build Y and the hitch cover was pretty easy to remove. There’s a notch on the top side for a flat blade screwdriver. Part number is 1494009-00-C

    Current Delivery Times

Got my VIN out of Mt Kisco for pickup on 6/5. It’s a 190xxx but still says Tesla Vision. Seems a bit older than the VINs coming out.

Today’s price increase - garage door opener now $325

I was looking at the weekend and it was $300. My Y order is now back to saying 6-9 weeks (was June 12-30) so I thought it was too early. D’oh!

taptes gen 3 (15w) wireless charging pad: first impressions

Just received mine, 2 months after ordering to replace the Taptes version 1. I'm delighted to report that the 15w wireless charger fits both the iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max in vertical position. Even the top cover will close (I forgot that was even there). Phew!

Cost to own Model 3 AWD vs Subaru Outback

The Y also has a heat pump which I’m guessing would increase effective range.

    Home charging confusion

48 amps is nice on the AWD (c. 42 miles per hour of charge versus around 30 on a 32 amp). Unless you need to recharge between trips; it’s still going to charge fully overnight.

Updating a 2020 Tesla vs 2020 Updating a Land Rover - A lesson in WTF

It drove me insane trying to update the navigation maps in my BMW. So complicated even though it’s “included” for the first 3 years but refuses to do it over the air. Tesla has disrupted the industry by regularly pushing updates to both the functionality of the car and navigation. The...

    Intermittent LTE issue resolved!

Just wanted to post an experience - I tried searching for an active thread. Since I picked up my 3 in June I’d noticed the music streaming would cut out regularly and the map / traffic updates. Even at home where it should’ve been on WiFi. This progressively got worse but I just assumed it was...

Input on Huge Crack in Windshield - Model 3 Delivery Day

We had a crack on the inside of the roof that we only found when we went to pick up the car. Bit of a surprise that they hadn’t caught it during any inspection (look up?!). We also weren’t allowed to take it with a due bill. It took a week for them to replace the roof and our car was in great...

    GAP Coverage

Loan/Lease Payoff through Progressive was an extra $5 for the 6 month term. They were also much cheaper than Geico for me.
