Model X Right hand drive production watch

Same issues I had with the 85D that had 2 very public delays and took 10/11 months to arrive from ordering. Only advice is: don't make any plans around their delivery estimates. The engineers are still probably figuring out how to re-arrange the wiring for the RHD version...

Why did Elon tweet that he needed "hardcore coders" rather than AI experts?

Would add that according to Elon AI could be the end of civilisation (ok, an exaggeration) but more importantly - AI can be unpredictable which is not what you want from safety critical systems. Imagine every car learnt to respond to the road differently based on the type of roads it'd been...

Elon to personally interview the SW developers who will work on autopilot

It means he's gonna size up how likely they are to defect to Apple ;-)

" Europe and Asia are pending regulatory approval "

Elon's tweet no longer visible. I suspect Europeans are in for an unexpected shafting one way or another.

Autopilot and v7 coming this Thursday! (15-10-15)

Back to the Future, Future Date - YouTube LOL

Who is still upgrading to Ludicrous in their P85D after hearing Drag times?

I have an 85D, figure that within a couple of years Tesla would have figured out enough stuff to make their performance model truly worthy of the extra cost (they'll need to for the next Roadster anyway). That means improving battery characteristics under prolonged load and improving the peak...

Will you regret buying MS too soon if immensely better model comes out soon?

I agree with what you said but a car is a bit different, I think primarily because of their cost. A significant (albeit well-off) proportion of smartphone, television and camera buyers can afford to replace their hardware every 1-2 years and get the latest and greatest - those items can mostly...

Come on down! You're the next contestant on The Autopilot-Release-Date Is Right...?

30th September. That way the pain of learning of all the cool new Autopilot Gen 1.5 stuff the Model X can do will be balanced by having Gen 1.0 autopilot for the Model S

[updated with *] P85D 691HP should have an asterisk * next to it.. "Up to 691HP"

You've made the determination that giving away Ludicrous fuses will somehow resolve the problem (it won't since it still won't deliver the advertised 691hp). Offering a refund is unlikely to cost a fortune since there weren't many thousands of P85Ds sold before May and very few buyers would...

[updated with *] P85D 691HP should have an asterisk * next to it.. "Up to 691HP"

There weren't THAT many P85Ds sold before May - the most common models are the more basic ones. As for the press, Tesla would know how to spin it in their favour - Elon will just say he doesn't want anyone to be unhappy about their purchase. I believe in the US the MS comes with a 'happiness...

[updated with *] P85D 691HP should have an asterisk * next to it.. "Up to 691HP"

You're right that they can't correct this. I suggest you tweet Elon saying you're so unhappy about the situation that you want to return the car for a full refund. Monday morning a Tesla rep would probably contact you and make it happen.

[updated with *] P85D 691HP should have an asterisk * next to it.. "Up to 691HP"

Tesla would be free to offer any remedy they deem appropriate, a full refund for return of the vehicle may seem aggressive but you would not be able to seek a 'small refund' as an alternative. Put yourself in Tesla's shoes - your course of action (and I think the basis of which has merit)...

[updated with *] P85D 691HP should have an asterisk * next to it.. "Up to 691HP"

Maybe, but I recall reading about a poster on here sometime ago complaining that Tesla refused to sell him a car and cancelled his Model X reservation too. Turns out he threatened to sue them over some grievance with his Model S and they decided they didn't want him as a customer again. Would...

[updated with *] P85D 691HP should have an asterisk * next to it.. "Up to 691HP"

Been following this for a while and have remained silent. I think the best any kind of action will get out of Tesla is an offer to return the vehicle for price paid. Tesla don't have a vehicle that can do 691hp and Ludicrous mode doesn't change that. The only remedy they can offer is one of...

Calling P85D owners world-wide for survey and complaint letter

A small difference matters. If it didn't why do you think Tesla bothers selling a 0.3 sec upgrade called Ludicrous for about a 10% premium in purchase price?. As for buying blindly - the onus in most parts of the world is for commercial sellers to accurately describe their products in their...
