    UK FSD Discussion

Yeah I noticed that at the time. During COVID they removed the redundancy sensor from the steering rack to improve production throughput. Does this mean my 2019 model is worth £50k again? No, it means that if absolutely necessary they'll retrofit those with FSD .

Best I can work out, if you have FSD in the USA you get grey shapes on the ground but not the 3D voxels that you get with the AMD system. I believe the Intel link to AP is a 100MB vs 1GB in AMD. Maybe they can't fit it in.

    Supercharger team sacked?

Might want to revise those numbers as they've fallen significantly. I paid 36p/kWh in Norwich this week. Every other charging network is significantly more than that. The closest I found was E.ON at 51p/kWh. Superchargers are, for now, by far the cheapest way to charge away from home. Maybe...

    [UK] Spring Software Update

Re the giant car visualisation on Intel - I've already got a car display when the car is in park. Can't they just make that full screen as some sort of poor man's version of the new visualisation. Full screen autopilot is already available on Intel cars with FSD.

Solar Panels UK - is it worth it?

I quite like a DC / hybrid setup as it allows you to generate more than your DNO export limit by pushing the excess into the batteries on the DC side.

    Model 3 Highland Performance

All those things are in Cybertruck and will no doubt appear at some point.

    Model 3 Highland Performance

Remember, they've changed the body and suspension but left everything else the same so the refresh is fairly minor. Theres till Vehicle to Grid, 48v and steer-by-wire to come before I'd consider this car "up to date".

    Model 3 Highland Performance

Which other models use 2170s from Fremont? Model Y LR and Performance?

It may also indicate that Tesla are diverted Panasonic capacity away from Model S and X to ensure the MH3P, that has the greatest margins, gets the full tax credit. Perhaps the Panasonic solution, developed more closely with Tesla, offers higher peak discharge rates for the halo products.

Solar Panels UK - is it worth it?

They might have put the wrong one in - it does happen!

Tried it out but you still need a phone to order.

That actually got a bit of polish a while back. I wouldn't call it fast but it's quick enough for my Toddler.

Yes I saw that. Is it AMD+USS or just USS? Time will tell.

    Regen Braking

It might be related to changes in the BMS. I think that's what controls how much energy can go into the battery and, by extension, the regeneration. It's also a bit warmer now so maybe you can't throw 7 kw into the PTC heater anymore.

    [UK] Spring Software Update

Re Intel - could be a lack of performance or storage or just commonality with the rest of the range. I think I'd rather keep the current interface if that's what required to keep it stutter free. The million dollar question is, do Intel owners continue to get the nice little features are we...
