    Trip Planning

I've found EV Trip Planner to be quite accurate, if you are accurate with your speed, headwind, etc. We took an 8000 mile trip in our S90D last summer and every Super Charger stop was close to estimated. We usually arrived at our destination at the end of each day several minutes ahead of the...

Planning a road trip from Pomona to Grand Canyon

Tesla has a good map showing all the Superchargers and Destination Charging locations -- tesla.com/findus Clicking on Destination Charging brings up a Best Western at the South Rim. Additionally, there are two hotels with destination charging and one Airbnb in Flagstaff. Destination charging...

90D time for fixes or lawsuits

I don't think so. Just upthread ahkahn reported that he had 30 Supercharger sessions per year with similar total mileage, yet he has 2% Rated Range loss and mine is greater than 4.5%. I can't believe a 50% increase in Supercharger visits would cause more than double the range degradation.

Best eating options at Superchargers on I5 Central Valley

I've made the trip from Grass Valley over the Sierras and down 395 to the desert many times. It takes 45 - 60 minutes longer than 99. If you have the time, it's a much more pleasant route. You can use evtripplanner.com to plan out your trip. To make it use 395 for your route, drag the...

    Death Valley

I've stayed at the Stovepipe Wells motel a couple of times. The accommodations are decent, not fancy. The restaurant is good too. I've read reports of charging at the RV park across the road from the motel, but I haven't done that myself. As I understand it they have 14-50 outlets and the...

    Death Valley

I’ve driven our S 90D through Death Valley, with a charging stop at Beatty NV (recommended). The temperature on that trip was a mild 90 degrees, so I don’t have the identical experience you’re looking for, but it was a very pleasant trip. As far as driving and charging in 110 degree heat I...

    Supercharger - Fresno, CA (6709 N Riverside, LIVE 10 Jan 2016, 10 V2 stalls)

I've made the Fresno to Mojave run three times in our Model S 90D. I charge to 95% (eat lunch or shop at Target) and drive the speed limit. In each case after a half-hour or so I've been able to see how much margin I've got and can speed up as much as 5 over the limit. I've always gotten to...

San Francisco to Death Valley: suggested overnight stop on the way?

My wife and I went to Death Valley yesterday. Out of a dozen or more previous trips, this was the first one in a Tesla. As other reports have indicated, the wildflower show on the valley floor was nonexistent. However there was a good variety of wildflower plants along the road to Beatty from...

San Francisco to Death Valley: suggested overnight stop on the way?

Well, if you are going to go through South Lake Tahoe on the way to the Gardnerville Supercharger then I'd recommend the shortcut over Kingsbury Grade, NV Hwy 207. It is a fun road with commanding views as you descend into the broad valley that 395 runs through. It cuts off driving all the way...

San Francisco to Death Valley: suggested overnight stop on the way?

Kernville would be more interesting than Lake Isabella but is likely to be overrun with white water rafters on the weekend. A bit farther is Ridgecrest with a good selection of motels from Hampton Inn to Econo Lodge. There will be plenty of vacancies on that weekend. It's just 9 miles from...

Grey Next Gen Seats - Available January 2017 ?!

My order for a 90D with the Grey seats was confirmed August 1 and showed an August / Early September expected delivery. The "Delivery Experience Specialist" stated that it would finish production the last day of August. So far there's no mention of being delayed for availability of parts.
