    Getting prepared for the delivery

Get ready to have the Tesla Crease is your frunk, just as soon as someone who is not specially trained tried to closet he hood. Of course, you can join the brewing class action lawsuit on this afterwards. We are all crazy to have bought such an expensive car with such a flaw!

Any minor/major problems with vehicles produced in 2014?

galangg, The Tesla Crease is, unfortunately, a widespread problem -- there are numerous threads on this Forum, and on the Teslamotors.com forum detailing the issue which began with the very first vehicles produced and continues to this day. When I took my Tesla Crease to the Tesla-authorized...

Any minor/major problems with vehicles produced in 2014?

Unfortunately, the design flaw that leads to creases in the frunk, or hood, remains in even the newest vehicles. Take a look the next time you walk by a parked Tesla -- a good number of them have creases at the very front of the frunk because the frunk can't be closed unless by using Tesla's own...

    Repairing Crease in Frunk

Greetings. I am the originator of this thread, and several of you have been kind enough and concerned enough to email me to ask me if I received any help from Tesla. The answer, unfortunately, is no. It appears that all of us frunk creasers -- and, from all of the forum threads and anecdotal...

    Repairing Crease in Frunk

William13, thanks for your information...very helpful. Despite Tesla's efforts to make paint-less dent repair possible, I've now been told by four separate dent repair guys, including ones recommended by Tesla, that they have all seen many, many of these creases and that paint-less repairs are...

How do you close the frunk? Have you creased it?

My car is only two months old, but in that time I seldom used the frunk, for fear of the dreaded crease -- which has been well-reported on this Forum as having impacted hundreds and hundreds of cars. Unfortunately, I just took my vehicle into a Service Center to repair part of the interior...

    Repairing Crease in Frunk

dsm363, in answer to your question about why a valet would open the frunk, I will repeat to you what the Tesla-authorized body shop expert told me yesterday: He has seen a large number of Tesla frunk creases in his market area, and many were caused by a valet mistakenly pressing the front of the...

    Repairing Crease in Frunk

Good point, Gizmotoy. I have no great hopes that Tesla will use its own log information to help prove what happened. In any event, this morning I showed the frunk crease to two of my business associates -- one who was about to order a Model S this weekend, the other who has a Model X on order...

    Repairing Crease in Frunk

Brass Guy, thank you for making the great suggestion about possibly using the car's fuse records or other logs to demonstrate when the frunk was opened. Tesla did not suggest this option for me, but I will begin to explore it immediately. Thanks again!

    Repairing Crease in Frunk

NigelM, in answer to your question, the Service Center's intake records do not show any damage to the hood. Unfortunately, I cannot positively prove that the damage happened during servicing because I did not notice the damage before I left the Center. And although I did not open the frunk after...

Seriously, When will the Honeymoon Phase Be Over?

When you -- as hundreds and hundreds of other a Tesla owners have -- get a crease in your hood because a well-known Tesla design defect almost guarantees damage to the hood if it is not closed (say, by a random valet) in the precise and special way Tesla recommends.

    Repairing Crease in Frunk

MikeInFl, thanks for your help. The advice you received is identical to what I have received so far. I am waiting now on the repair estimate. Have you ever gotten an estimate from a qualified body shop for this fix?

    Repairing Crease in Frunk

Gizmotoy, you are absolutely right that I should not speak for others when using the word "suckered" into buying this vehicle. For me, though, I know that if the Tesla representative had said when I walked into the store that "there is a pretty good chance that sometime relatively soon after you...

    Repairing Crease in Frunk

Thanks to everyone for your help. I just got back from the Tesla-authorized body shop. Bad news: They say they've seen many, many of these same frunk issues with Teslas and that it is generally not possible to repair the creases with traditional dent removal techniques. (The dent removal guy...

    Repairing Crease in Frunk

Merrill, thanks for your response. I am happy that you have not experienced this problem, and of course I realize that not every single owner has experienced it. But if the evidence on this Forum and others is to be believed, hundreds and hundreds of people have discovered that, despite paying...
