    Anodized stainless steel.

Interesting. I wonder if the 301 stainless Tesla uses could have colour baked in without changing its strength or durability? Seems like an engineering challenge.

[POLL] For Cybertruck Res Holders ONLY, what type of buyer are you?

Model 3 FSD owner moving to Cybertruck. Am hoping to keep the 3 as a full-time rental to offset the Cybertruck cost rather than selling the 3 outright. I'm a city dweller now, but grew up in middle of nowhere, Australia, where Landcruisers and utes were vital to live in such a harsh environment...

    Anodized stainless steel.

I looked it up before posting then watched a few videos on the subject. It seems stainless can be anodized and from what I saw it was either chemical or heat treatment. I'm not sure of the details, such as whether or not it would only involve rapid surface heating (since heating all the way...

    Anodized stainless steel.

I think anodizing would look way cooler than paint or a wrap. The surface could be sandblasted then anodized black for a real stealth look. Of course it could be anodized to almost any color. Something about a metallic color that really appeals to me, and maybe the process will be faster and...

MASTER THREAD: 2019.36.1 update released with 5% power increase

Yeah. Did a reset while driving and the speakers reverted from 1975 car to 2019 car.

Service center loaned me a 75D...I love it (comparing Model 3 to Model S)

I wish they'd stop production of the S/X for 2 years and focus on the B/Y/3/Semi for now. Bring the S/X back as 2022 models that are a complete refresh. Much more like the 3 IMHO would be a better design. Put the extra $$ into more batteries -- 500 mile range -- and moveable/multiple screens...

1st Snow day for my Model 3 SR+ and for the season - lost control and bumped into divider

I'm running snow tyres for the first time. I figured the pain of doing the change, having extra noise and less efficiency, was less than the pain of waiting for the car to be repaired if I pulled a what-you-did. I know everyone has said it, but to reiterate: tyres. It doesn't matter how much...

Which winter tires are you biying?

I bought the Nokian Hakkapeliitta R3 SUV tyres for my 3. 235/50, so slightly taller. Running on 18s. They're amazingly good, but are a little noisy on dry pavement until about 70 km/h.

    Ease of entering/exiting

I'm also 6'4", and the S would not work for that reason. B-pillar completely blocks my view and mobility. I bought a 3 to get me through to the Y. The 3 is way too low, and I have the seat all the way back, so it's also a literal pain. If I was keeping it, I'd raise it up 2", which is what...

    Winter Tires on Model 3

Hehe. Yeah, they have been a bit of a cure for my typical maniac-driving style. So far I love the look, the tiny bit of extra height, and as long as I'm not trying to slide around corners, the feel is only one condom, albeit rather thick and unstudded.

    Winter Tires on Model 3

Nope. 3. Fits perfectly as you can see. I don't like the noise, but better than an accident.

    Winter Tires on Model 3

I went with the Hakkapeliitta R3 SUV 235/50. They fit perfectly, correct the speedo to be exact, and ride great. They're a bit noisy and it's taken me some time getting used to the different cornering dynamics, but so far so good.

    Supercharger - Richmond, BC

In Richmond: within the first week. Probably somehow park on top of a charger.

Why does Tesla use a Resistance Heater instead of Heat Pump

Would be amazing to see some video of install/removal of that. Nice work!!

Why does Tesla use a Resistance Heater instead of Heat Pump

You could always use some foam rubber, like mousepad material, and cut it to shape then stick to the glass. I've been waiting to see someone do that. Make the upper side reflective.
