Anodized stainless steel.

I think anodizing would look way cooler than paint or a wrap.
The surface could be sandblasted then anodized black for a real stealth look.
Of course it could be anodized to almost any color. Something about a metallic color that really appeals to me, and maybe the process will be faster and cheaper than any other method.

What Metals Can Be Anodized?

I looked it up before posting then watched a few videos on the subject. It seems stainless can be anodized and from what I saw it was either chemical or heat treatment. I'm not sure of the details, such as whether or not it would only involve rapid surface heating (since heating all the way through may destroy some useful mechanical properties of the stainless Tesla uses) or how deep a chemical etch would penetrate, but it does appear possible.
I'll definitely need to educate myself more on the matter.

Interesting.

I wonder if the 301 stainless Tesla uses could have colour baked in without changing its strength or durability? Seems like an engineering challenge.

You can black chrome stainless steel.
Looks amazing. Problem is finding a plater with big enough tanks to submerge the large body panel sections.
I'm not familiar with anodizing any material other than aluminum.
