12V Battery Replacement - Local Options?

I only have the 1 vehicle and know the original mobile estimate was over $300...there were multiple electrical system error messages so I think they included those, but everything cleared up once the battery was replaced. My 2nd estimate was $117, but they did it under warranty as I was below...

12V Battery Replacement - Local Options?

I have a 2020 M3 I got at the very end of 2019. I had a recall mobile service for a rear harness electrical cable replacement about 12 days ago, just before my 4 year warranty expired. Other than changing tires, this was the first time I had any service done on the car. I too asked if there was...

    Winter Tires- recommendations & question

Big O recommended Hankook WiNter i*cept evo3 W330 235/45R18XL 98V BSW Tires as winter tires for my model 3 LR/AWD living at 9 k feet in CO. Walmart's site said the manufacturer recommends at least a W speed. Big O didn't think it was important as V is rated for speeds up to 149, while W is 168...

Do you know if the tire pressure sensors can be reprogrammed for a different vehicle?

    $4/DAY- Tesla Worker/Contractor Minimum Wage

Is $4/DAY enough for those working at mining cobalt for Tesla batteries? https://www.theverge.com/2022/2/15/22933022/cobalt-mining-ev-electriv-vehicle-working-conditions-congo Should Tesla, Elon Musk, the US Gov and other multi-national executives support a $5/hour Worldwide Minimum Wage instead...

Tesla backing Bitcoin is a carbon tragedy (energy use is HUGE/transaction)

Tesla sales and stock price has typically reflected a green premium. Now that Tesla's market cap has dropped over $200 billion, does anyone still think the bitcoin investment was a good move for shareholders? @David_Cary https://mattelston.com/2021/03/24/teslas-bitcoin-folies/

Tesla Buys $1.5B in Bitcoin, Will Accept as Payment

Great point! Are there more people who will now buy a Tesla because they can do it in BTC, or more people who might think less of Tesla and hold off on purchasing because they don't see gold and bitcoin as being consistent with energy efficiency and getting to net zero emissions?

Tesla Buys $1.5B in Bitcoin, Will Accept as Payment

I agree with Daniel...tax law is very complicated and for the IRS tries to get its hands on as much as possible when there is any sort of USA connection. Was told recently that in France, trading between cryptos doesn't trigger a taxable event, but in USA, even barter transactions can be...

Tesla Buys $1.5B in Bitcoin, Will Accept as Payment

Maybe more now, but at the time of this writing, Tesla stock has lost over $200 billion of market cap since disclosing bitcoin purchase. http://www.mattelston.com/2021/03/24/teslas-bitcoin-folies/

Tesla Hold $1.5bn in Bitcoin !

Yes, some BTC miners are certainly greener than others, but there are already faster and more efficient cryptos out there with lower transaction costs and lower carbon footprints. I've heard a bit of talk that Sustainability and ESG are rising investment themes...if a company wants to position...

Tesla Buys $1.5B in Bitcoin, Will Accept as Payment

↑ "Funny how Tesla’s mission statement is “to accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy” yet they invest in the most unnecessarily energy-consuming cryptocurrency." Very true. There have been lots of articles about this worldwide. The higher the price of BTC, the more...

Tesla Hold $1.5bn in Bitcoin !

Very true. There have been lots of articles about this worldwide. The higher the price of BTC, the more unsustainable electrical energy the network uses. Hopefully, Musk is playing a long game of raising awareness of a problem before switching to a crypto that is faster, cheaper to transact in...

Salesman gives me EAP, 6 months later, Tesla takes it away via OTA

I love my M3, but Tesla does seem to be going for short term $ over customer satisfaction. While waiting to receive a VIN on my SR+ order in December '19, I saw an inventory LR available at a lower online price than a new order LR...I called in and switched to that car, set up delivery for...

    Greatest Achievements of Public Policy

Yes, in Europe, there is typically one company that runs the lifts at each resort while multiple individuals/companies offer food and ski instruction. No reason Congress/Dept of Ag/USFS couldn't do the same here. Its not a Nationwide monopoly. Rather, there are multiple local monopolies (thus...

    Greatest Achievements of Public Policy

I communicated some with the USFS a few years back and also wrote to some politicians...not sure how high up the food chain I got. Unclear if they see it as a problem as there are lots of different ski areas across the US. The justice department might say no monopoly if a single company owned...
