In usual Tesla fashion the Thursday text messages went out I suppose. Delivery notification and set for 3/18. VIN still only shows in source and not on site.

Got delivery notification this morning, earliest available is 3/18 so little less than 2 weeks to go. Technically my trade-in offer is expired by then but we'll see what they'll do. Doubt it actually changed much anyway. Excited that there is a light at the end of the tunnel :)

I guess my complaining this morning worked - VIN showed up in source sometime today. Checked at ~9am ET and it wasn't there.... Thankful it's moving forward.

Got my delivery update yesterday (Monday) as well that it'll be delivered in 3-5 weeks, which still falls in line with the original 6-9 weeks so no real change. Curious though as yesterday also I have finalized my payment and Insurance step on the Tesla account page.

I spoke to a Tesla rep yesterday in a store. As currently my trade-in as well as payment is pending my action (don't want to proceed until I have a VIN) - he said it will not delay delivery. He said to just make sure it's all done and in order before delivery time comes.

While I would hate it obstructing a glass roof I can see a slight benefit for idle operations. Keeping the car cool when parked in the sun without draining the battery, allowing for other battery consuming tasks while parked might be a benefit.
