When will we get Park Assist on Model S with HW4 and no USS?

I'm surprised and curious as to why? I don't have USS and vision only parking is very conservative IME. When it says stop, I get out and look, and have lots of room left every time. In fact, if you use auto park to back into a supercharger, the cable reaches - but barely, and there's more than a...

MY 2024 Refresh - Project Juniper?

They are still selling plenty of MYs so lots of people are NOT holding out, self included. I did hold out for HW4, but got tired of waiting for Juniper - and you can't know what the prices will be when it comes. I got a VERY low price, without giving up much that mattered to me. YMMV

    Otrifowd Magshade for Model 3/Y

While driving. It's like any other glass roof sunshade, just attaches with strong magnets instead of plastic clips. Much easier to put up/take down. Link in post #1 shows everything.

    Car knows home routine

Agreed. I haven't hit my head at home, but it would be nice if it fully opened when outside. The opening has to be lower on my MY than any previous car I've owned. OTOH, I would probably start hitting my head at home if I got used to full opening everywhere but home...

Does a battery ever have a positive ROI with net metering

Dramatically increases the cost of solar however. Gone are the days when homeowners could just use what they needed and get paid for any surplus they sent to the grid without any battery/concern for supply/demand mismatches. Haven't researched the topic yet, but I assume it's more cost...

    Otrifowd Magshade for Model 3/Y

With summer approaching, I was about to buy a pano roof sunshade, the ones with the various plastic clips. Then I stumbled on this model that relies on magnets instead of clips, and the shades themselves are foldable like windshield sun shades. It's reflective on top, and the underside matches...

Does a battery ever have a positive ROI with net metering

You may well be right, I was trying to extend the benefit of the doubt. If people understood electricity daily demand curves and how large scale utilities have to respond to fluctuating demand, they might understand why net metering shouldn’t continue indefinitely. It was a gift incentive that...

Does a battery ever have a positive ROI with net metering

Net metering isn't sustainable where homeowners view the grid as a battery, shouldn't be news to anyone. Net metering (without local system batteries) makes the demand curve for utilities worse, not better. The flatter the demand curve, the more efficient for traditional power plants, also not...

    FSD now $8,000. Who's buying?

Well I'm a dope. I'd read too many out of date posts, some above - and faint gray alternate routes are so subtle vs the bright blue, I hadn't noticed, but you're right. Thanks. 😊

Are you satisfied with the range you get?

I don't travel anywhere near as far as my comfortable range daily, and I charge level 2 at home, so that's more than workable. When I take longer trips, superchargers are more than adequate and reliable, so I have no qualms there either. EVs don't make sense if you can't charge at home and/or...

    FSD now $8,000. Who's buying?

Something Tesla needs to address, sooner or later, allow route selection like Google and Apple Maps. Tesla NAV routinely chooses routes I do not want. For now I just start out on the route I want and let my Tesla eventually recalculate. With FSD, that's not possible without taking control AFAIK...

Poll: Do You Plug In Every Day (for daily driving, home charging)?

^^^ good information, but this thread and poll is specifically about habits for daily driving for owners who charge to home primarily as the title noted. Many if not all us change our habits when superchargers are more likely.

Poll: Do You Plug In Every Day (for daily driving, home charging)?

So my 40% to 80% to 40% scheme isn’t too bad, for someone for whom it’s not convenient to plug in every day.

glass roofs have to go bye bye.

Aftermarket shades are very inexpensive and effective, and glass roofs are kinda nice in winter. Not worth complaining about IMO, but people will anyway…

    Still don’t have FSD trial.

V12 is better, and worth waiting for, but it still has significant shortcomings and it’s not that different. V11 was by no means “pure garbage.”
