That sucks, but is not typical. I got a trade-in offer from them in April which was pretty close to what everyone else was offering. After 30 days it expired though, and I had to get it updated and… it actually came back higher the second time. Shop around, like others have said.

Just got the prompt to accept the lack of radar, followed by a VIN. Ordered late April, date was saying 1-11 weeks just this morning, now 6/24-6/26.

Surely my late April order will get a car matched to it soon. I think being close to the factory is putting me at the bottom of the priority list.

EDD now back to 6/17-6/30 after bouncing to aug-sep for a few days… I expect tomorrow it will be replaced with a shrugging emoji.

Any other (late) April orders with EDD pushed to Aug-Sep?

Damn, I’m super jealous. Guess it’s likely mine is getting kicked out of the quarter now for some reason, despite ordering in April. Maybe white interior is having delays?

Good grief… ordered in late April when the site said 5-7 weeks. After showing an estimate of the next week for almost a month, now it’s just jumped to Aug 16-Sept 5. Guess they ran out of red paint.

That would be a fast turnaround, but I guess it’s possible. I ordered a month before you and I’m only an hour from Fremont, but I’m not certain I’ll get mine this month. No vin for me yet, but a window of 6/9-6/27, with the start date moving every time that day actually arrives. ;)

I don’t recall my S getting slower over time if that’s the concern.

I think it’ll hold up pretty well, it’s already a very bright, high res display and renders maps with fluidity (feels like 60fps). You could double the pixel density or crank it up to 240hz and I honestly wouldn’t care, for what it does I don’t think further performance would be that appreciable.

Since this thread got revived I’d like to add that I’ve had better luck with autopilot since my intitial findings, and I’ve gotten used to what it can/can’t seem to handle at freeway speed. Really seems to only struggle with combinations of curves and elevation changes at high speed. Anything...

The gen 2 cable is in fact narrower, at 1/2 inch. I noticed the difference in feel right away, just measured it to check for you.

Some premium balsa wood, probably. :) I doubt it, it's light gray, whereas every S I've seen had a slightly tan Alcantara. I wonder if my 3 having Alcantara will make it a collector's item some day? :)
