    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Happy with one improvement to TACC I noticed. It used to freak out and suddenly brake because it saw cars parked at an angle on a median as a threat, but it handles them fine now.

    ChargeFox EV charging Network

Thanks for sharing and hope this encourages or shames people into not hogging chargers needlessly!

    Model Y Accessories for Australia

Saw on Whirlpool but haven't seen it on this site yet - Tesla-issue parcel shelf for MY finally available. $650. https://shop.tesla.com/en_au/product/model-y-parcel-shelf

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

That is exactly what I noticed today, now when I have the energy usage showing I can’t see the next turn too. A step backward.

    Supercharger - Melbourne (Brighton East)

JB Hifi will be good to wander around if you’re also a technophile which you might be as a Tesla owner, although the Dan Murphy’s nearby could be dangerous.

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

Yes (had plenty of time, along with getting other accessories!). Best Tesla could do was give me the ‘standard’ (non black and white slimline) plates which were apparently cheaper, which I immediately ripped off and returned to VicRoads.

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

Bring your customised plate to the delivery, remove the default plate, screw your own on and inform VicRoads, that’s what I did. Tesla stopped doing it for customers quite some time ago.

Refresh Model X & S Waiting Room - AUSTRALIA (Orders cancelled by Tesla May2023)

Surprised and disappointed - I know Tesla does minimalist interiors and minimalist product lines but didn’t expect Elon to essentially tell the RHD market you can have either the 3 or the Y, take it or leave it. Maybe they have some kind of replacement for the S/X categories but I doubt it. I...

    Camping in the 3

Camping in the Y is pretty good though I haven't tried doing it in the 3 to compare (I suspect there's a lot more space to move around in the Y). Shades/blinds for the windows are good, the first set I bought from Tessories were missing clips for the rear windscreen but they sent out a set...

    2,922km trip

Nice writeup and detail, thanks for sharing - always like hearing about people's experiences and makes me want to do my next road trip even sooner.

    Superchargers in Australia

These outages are disappointing - clearly there's some way to go with charging infrastructure. Up to now I thought I could rely on Tesla's rock-solid Superchargers but if you reach Gundagai with minimal SoC expecting the Superchargers will be fine, and the whole site with other chargers go down...

Advice on buying Non Tesla items and thoughts

imho necessary is very subjective - some will swear mats are essential. I really wanted rubber (or rubber-like) ones, ordered and received them before taking delivery (of course), and put them in as soon as I got home. I prefer not to see how the included mats would handle the dirt and mud I...

Sensitivity of accelerator pedal in parking manouvres

It's been a total non-issue for me, and I don't use creep mode. I've been able to adapt to the pedals to reverse-park, even while interspersed with still having to drive an ICE now and then. The bigger issue for me is the visibility - the ICE cars I'm used to have better rear visibility, better...

Reversing issues in new MYP = accident

That's a real bummer to your brand new precious. I'll test out your points, when I get my own MY RWD (from repairs after someone else hit it - probably less damage than you - had to wait nearly a couple of months to get it into the repairers). I still find the reversing camera very misleading...

    Repair/Parts wait times in Australia

That's good to know, I've been hearing their ads a lot and when I looked on their website about where the money to pay for the hire car comes from, it seemed they go out of their way not to say. And the ads made it sound like this is a service set in stone in the constitution.
