Wiki Everything you wanted to know about Intelligent Octopus But Were Afraid To Ask

I’ve got mine sorted now. I’ve got two email accounts with Tesla/lease company, and needed to grant permission with the right one. (So partly me being an idiot!).

Cheers. Obviously there’s any number of reasons I can’t disconnect/reconnect. I just wanted to eliminate the fact it’s leased through Arval. I thought it was odd that I got an email (from Tesla) in German though!

Wiki Everything you wanted to know about Intelligent Octopus But Were Afraid To Ask

Anyone else lease their car from Arval? I’m trying to reconnect my Y to IO. I’ve authorised through Tesla, ticked the boxes and got an email (in German, bizarrely!) saying it’s ok. When I try and “connect device” (4th box down) and put my login detail, when it returns to Octopus, it goes...

    Tesla Alternative?

The Polestar 2 is “a Chinese car from Geely”. The Android Automotive OS is better than Tesla in many ways, worse in others. On balance, there’s not much in it, but CarPlay swings it for me in favour of the Polestar (not bothered about fart noises or other gimmicks). We’ve had errors/bugs with...

    New Highland UK - stalks

Exbloodylactly. The “Tesla are leading innovation” line is laughable. Granted, in some areas eg the drivetrain they are class-leading, but in other “tech” areas they’re comically inept (eg wipers, park assist, self-park, adaptive cruise speed camera recognition). They’re also instrumental in the...

    Fisker ocean - UK forum

I think the EV industry is crying out for someone to apply Apple-like ergonomic and consumer-focused design to Tesla-like drivetrain and OS tech. Unfortunately, Tesla definitely aren’t pursuing this strategy (despite their initial “it just works” reputation). I find Tesla incredibly...

Park Assist Upgrade - contest for the spookiest pictures

Maybe what they need is a kind of distance detection system, linked to a beeping sound that increases frequency as you get closer to an object. These sensors could be positioned on the edges of the vehicle. I’m surprised no-one has thought of this. Merry Xmas to the numpties at Tesla.

How many people are having connectivity issues?

It certainly looks like they‘ve done something to connectivity. I think it’s possibly been a few months now. We’ve never had great coverage at home, but it always used to be ok once we left home (other than blackspots in remote areas, obviously). Now it seems to be very spotty pretty much...

    So… Highland is out…

    7. No USS? 🤣 I know a couple of Tesla owners who have said they won’t buy another Tesla until they reinstate USS.

    Wipers

It’s difficult to tell whether they have been tweaking the sensitivity up/down so it seems to vary over time, or it’s the particular conditions that suit the system or not. I had a period about 6m ago where driving along tree-lined streets set the wipers off. It was extremely annoying, but they...

My experience taking Tesla to court about FSD

Good work there, sir! You clearly fought out of principle, and love the way you didn’t accept the gagging clause. I suspect too many people do (in other cases/companies), so to some extent Tesla deserve for this information to be disseminated. Do you fancy having a pop at them for Park Assist...

    So… Highland is out…

It’s bizarre, isn’t it? It’s like suggesting a car company would take a perfectly workable park assist system, then f**k it up completely. Talk about sabotaging your own product…

    So… Highland is out…

That’s not really the point. We (Us, Europe, US as far as my experience) have a “standard” and unless all car manufacturers in our market chose to change thing to a new one, it’s mental to mess with it. All you’re going do is unecesarily take people’s mind off driving.

    So… Highland is out…

Thats suggesting that the entire car industry is going to move towards stalkless design because it’s the “best way” of indicating. It isn’t. Decades of muscle memory has evolved in the driving population; we expect indicators on the left hand side of the steering wheel, and changing that is like...

    UK Highland Orders

I do wonder what the saturation point is for the 3 and Y, particularly as BIK advantages are slowly being unwound. Irrespective of that, there are only so many company car buyers who’ll want a Tesla over a BM/Merc/Audi (which are quite tempting on lease). Similarly, how many private buyers...
