2022 Model Y "Outer Portion" Tire Wear

The tire wear looks even to me. The inside groove and outside groove appears to be the same depth. Not sure what you mean by excessive wear. The geometry of the tire may be not look square because you have turned the wheel at an angle and bearing load, so it has a significant negative camber...

Installing 750W 120V inverter in cabin, what's the best wiring routing? (2023)

Triggering a max limit is an exceptional condition for any electrical device. It's a situation to be avoided. When the DC/DC converter is operating, the 12V battery is a load, not a source. It cannot "back fill". The 12V's only function is to provide power when the converter is not working. But...

Installing 750W 120V inverter in cabin, what's the best wiring routing? (2023)

The issue is not the battery but the charging circuit feeding that battery. That's going to be what's under load during normal driving, not the battery itself.

    Model Y Sound System Upgrade

When they say "there is room for improvement" at the start of the video, my immediate question would be: in what way? They tested the sound with hard rock and electronic music, two of the most processed and compressed low-fidelity music types. I don't think I heard any vocals, and certainly no...

    Someone bumped into my trunk

Not the same situation though. Your dent/crease is much larger and deeper. 12K still sounds like a lot for a rear hatch replacement...

Discussion: Experiences Renting a Tesla Model 3 / Y from various companies

I've been enjoying my new 2023 Y so I rented a Model 3 from Avis on our trip. The car has 3500 miles on it and looks like it has never received a good wipe down. My own car has 3000+ miles and is nowhere near this dirty. Funny thing is that on landing, Avis assigned me a Cadillac XT6, so I had...

    Two month impression

I don't understand the claim that they weren't able to integrate the three technologies. Clearly they were, which is why people are complaining about the removal of two of the three technologies. The issues you mentioned with vision are not deal breakers. If people can drive just fine with...

USS has to have an active signal source because its design depends on it. Tesla Vision does not need its own light source because it uses existing light sources. Tesla Vision could be further enhanced with supplemental lighting, possibly taking advantage of matrix lights. In other words, Tesla...

    Two month impression

We are pretty avid road trippers. Maybe we are still in the honeymoon phase with our Y. We will see how it goes after another few months.

    Two month impression

We have the exact opposite experience, also 2 months and about 2500 miles into our Y. The Y is our vehicle of choice for long distance. It is a dar more relaxing drive due to the availability of enhanced autopilot. The ride is firm, I agree, but the Y seats are nice and soft, like sofa seats...

Small nail near tire wall, tiny bubbles. What can be done?

That should be fine to plug.

Anyone have a 6MT car in addition to their Y?

??? Are you seriously trying to argue that the subjective preferences of others, the things that bring them joy, are invalid because your own preferences are different or that they are in the minority?

    Wheel Covers Other Than Aero

Very true, but they are just a little too chunky looking. The silver/grey color doesn't fit well with the rest of the car that has blacked-out trim. I also find that the straight lines and hard bevels clash with the soft-flowing body lines of the Model Y.
