Vendor Model 3 Battery Pack/Module Applications Discussion

Yep I've dug into that quite a bit. It's just that the cheapest batteries are the ones with one bad module or some other damage of some kind. Always looking for ways to build the largest battery with the smallest budget.

Vendor Model 3 Battery Pack/Module Applications Discussion

Do you have any experience with the LFP modules? I'm curious if they can be broken down into 48v or smaller modules.

Nearly brand new 90 kWh Non-Ludicrous battery pack, v3 - LIMITED TIME

So what is the ballpark price on an upgrade like this. I have a 2014 p85d with 149k miles on it. Actually still charges to 244, so it's doing pretty well for it's age and mileage -- still can't help but wonder.

Service says $22k for new battery on 2012 Model S

I certainly do not know this to be a fact...but...I just assumed that the Tesla power walls were made with used cells from their packs that they replace. Does anyone know if the cells in a power wall are brand new? I don't know if I can make the numbers work out for me but when my Tesla...

I replaced my own battery heater

I'd say it took around 3 hours total (less time if you are familiar with removing the frunk trim and other stuff under there -- it was my first time). You do have to remove quite a few things to access it. I'm 6' 1" and it was quite a difficult reach to unplug the battery heater from the...

I replaced my own battery heater

Okay. I disconnected the 12v and then the responders loop, waited about 15 minutes and bam! I'm good to go. Running like a champ. Thanks for suggesting. I never would have thought of doing another disconnect since it was disconnected the entire time I was working on it. I guess it needed...

I replaced my own battery heater

Thanks. I'll give it a try and report back. I couldn't get an appointment with Tesla until March 4th so this will be most helpful if it works.

I replaced my own battery heater

I will try that, although I did have both of those disconnected for a couple of hours on Sunday while replacing the heater. Does order in which it is done make a difference? Sunday I unhooked the 12v first and responder loop second. Also when you say "make sure to wait 5 min", do you mean I...

I replaced my own battery heater

Not a bad idea. I live over an hour away though. The plan now is for a mobile tech to stop by the hospital where I work and reset it. Will this cost me more than if I took the car to the service center? Also they aren't coming until March 4th. That seems like a pretty lengthy wait for such...

I replaced my own battery heater

I reached out to Tesla again and told them my situation. This is what they said.

I replaced my own battery heater

It was really cold recently and I got the warnings- car may not restart and acceleration and top speed reduced -- also no regen. Tesla remote diagnosed it as failing battery heater and quoted me $705. My car is out of warranty so I bought a used battery heater out of a 2018 model S and...

Pre Dec 2014 S Heated Steering Wheel Retrofit

I know this thread is about pre 12/14 retrofit but what all is required to add heated steering wheel to a car with December 2014 build date?
