    Supercharger - Destin, FL - US-98

Thank goodness. I have been waiting for this to open for years. Charging in Destin has been a disaster.

Ear-Splitting Rumbling Sound When My Model S is in Motion (except when window rolled down)

Same problem here, came and went and was so baffling to me. Took me months to realize it was the ARNC. Turned it off and noise is gone forever.

Sad about Plaid? Attention past or present Porsche 911 Owners!

Heck yeah. I won't clutter up the thread too much but can't resist. I am completely biased but, for me, it is heads and shoulders above everything else in its segment. With mods it matches my Plaid from a roll. And finally, it has been more reliable than my Plaid. That is probably more of a...

Sad about Plaid? Attention past or present Porsche 911 Owners!

Right on. Use the right tool for the job. Plaid is a great daily driver, fast in a straight line, comfortable, practical, etc but it isn't a sports car and at close to 5,000 lbs doesn't pretend to be. If budget/space allows, get discrete vehicles for their intended purposes. I cannot state...

Test drove 2016 Model S P100D; Surprised by sluggish acceleration and weak regenerative braking.

I haven't set up SMT on my Plaid yet but I can tell you that there is an option to blend in friction braking when regen is reduced and I have that option disabled as I don't want my car to friction brake unless I tell it to. Personal preference. So my comments are solely on the regen...

Test drove 2016 Model S P100D; Surprised by sluggish acceleration and weak regenerative braking.

I went from a 2016.5 P90D to a 2022 MSP. There are numerous improvements throughout and I made a thread about it when I made the switch. Pertinent to this thread, cold weather behavior and regen are vastly improved. In all situations my Plaid regens way harder than my old P90D did, which I...

The 2 Best Days In a Plaid Owner’s Life

I will say that I had trouble sleeping last night and began to think about following you down the path of pursuing a buyback on my car if service continues to fail in repairing some suspension issues that my car has.

The 2 Best Days In a Plaid Owner’s Life

True if the timeframe is extended far enough. The reason that so many Plaid owners are salty is that Tesla singlehandedly destroyed much of the resale value by slashing prices on new cars by around $50k in some cases. Traditional luxury marques like Porsche and others that give a crap about...

The 2 Best Days In a Plaid Owner’s Life

I drove an EQS and really liked it, not as much as the I7 but it was great. So much better than the Tesla in many ways and it definitely tempts me. Hyperscreen is amazing as is just having a well built car. However, due to the aforementioned horrendous depreciation, I am stuck riding this bad...

Sell or keep MS with 60k

Keep it, you are already low on the depreciation curve and the battery/drive units are the big ticket items and you still have warranty for those. I had a Y for a loaner recently. They are certainly nice but not in the same league as an S.

Carseats: Model S vs Model Y

I am on my second S. I bought my first one and sold many of my sports cars six years ago when we found out we were expecting. It is my kid hauler. The situation is not much better in the S from our experience but it will certainly depend on how tall you/your wife are and what your preferred...

Model S/X Round Steering Wheel & Retrofit

I saw that you posted in this thread, came in here expecting an absolutely insane response, and can happily report that I got exactly what I was hoping for!

2021 Refreshed Model S - steering wheel yolk material peeling off?

Mine took around 20k miles to start melting at the top of the left, and subsequently at the top of the right portion of the yoke. It started in the summer and you can tell the pleather covering the yoke is much softer in the summer. I believe it "melts" as others have said. Try it for...

MS Plaid vs Taycan vs EQS

Typical excellent Porsche build quality, drives like a much smaller and lighter car so handling is much better than the Plaid. The magazines got great skidpad numbers out of the Plaid similar to the Taycan but there is a world of difference between the cars. UI/tech is much better in the Plaid...

MS Plaid vs Taycan vs EQS

Inspired partially by this thread I test drove an I7 and an EQS yesterday. I previously drove a Taycan Turbo S. I have many complaints about my Plaid but I can honestly say it is difficult to replace with any one of those cars. They are all "nicer" and better built but I expected to be blown...
