    Charger location in garage

Agree with this. Put a Nema 14-50 socket in position A. We run the mobile charge cord under the garage door and charge our electric cars that way. Super easy to back the car up to the garage door (outside) and plug it in. My wife's car is a Mustang Mach-E and we charge it the same way...

Wall connector compatability to existing breaker panel?

A/C runs all night long during the summer in Texas. Never stops until October... Anyway our electric rates are the same, day and night.

Wall connector compatability to existing breaker panel?

What size is the panel - 200 amps? Looks like it might be max'd out already. Do you have a clamp on current meter? Make some measurements...

Charging on the mains stops on GFCI but circuit has not tripped and is still live

How long is the extension cord? What is the wire gauge?

Tesla Wall Connector Price Drop to $495 from $550 [ordered direct from tesla]

With the key fob in my pocket, I can press the mobile charger button and the charge port opens. If the car is asleep, then it takes two button presses. Always works for me. Not really. I just charge up the car when it gets down to 50% or less. Then it just takes 2 to 3 hours to recharge...

Tesla Wall Connector Price Drop to $495 from $550 [ordered direct from tesla]

I installed a 14-50R socket (Bryant 9450FR) with wiring for $75 total cost. The socket is high quality and works great. I leave the mobile charger plugged in all the time. The tesla mobile charger has been powered on for more than a year now. I use the tesla mobile charger for two electric...

After charging, the screen reported 15 KW used. Is this the total power pulled from the socket?

A small correction - I'm seeing the charge total on the tesla app on my phone, not on the car screen. Today I charged from 28% to 81%, (25 KW shown on the app). So this charge cost $3.98 and took 3.5 hours. Not bad....

After charging, the screen reported 15 KW used. Is this the total power pulled from the socket?

That makes sense. At 88% efficiency, the power from the wall socket would be 17 KW. So the total cost to charge was $2.38. Seems cheaper than gas... :)

After charging, the screen reported 15 KW used. Is this the total power pulled from the socket?

I have a standard range M3 (2020). After finishing the charge, the car reported 15 KW used. I use 240 volts at 32 amps to charge. Went from 48% to 80%. So I took my last electric bill total, divided by the total KW used for the month and came up with $0.14 per KW. This includes taxes...

    Small Screen Font on UI

After I bought my Tesla M3, I got a lot of questions from family and friends. All asked how I liked the car - most were considering buying a Tesla. Then they asked about using the LCD screen while driving. I told them the truth - I don't even try to use except at a stop light. Too hard to...

Questions about condo charging near the ocean

That 3 miles per hour number is for the model S and model X. The model 3 get 6 miles per hour. That is 144 miles per day, if it is plugged in all the time. The model 3 has a much better charger.

Questions about condo charging near the ocean

Buy a 15' extension (12 gauge) from Lowes. These are well designed, heavy duty extensions designed to run power tools (saws). Cost is $35. First try it out at home and see how well it works.

Questions about condo charging near the ocean

It is always good to mention this. In my garage, there are a couple of outlets on the same circuit. But none are in use - at all. Yes, if I were using a power saw or drill, sure. The total charging draw on that circuit is 12 amps. So it is at the 15 amp breaker limit (for continuous use)...

Questions about condo charging near the ocean

I'm getting 6 miles per hour with a normal outlet in the garage. During charging, the voltage shown is 120 volts. I drive 15 to 30 miles, daily. I only need to charge every other day. Sometimes I will go two days without charging. I've even run the car down to 18% and charged it up over...

how normal is it for center screen to crash and lose functionality?

Had one event. I was driving at dusk and the screen turned off. I pulled over and pressed (and held) the two scroll buttons on the steering wheel. Nothing happened. So I started driving again (headlights were off). It was a rural road. I started sweating it, wondering how I could get...
