Also remember, it doesn't require wifi to download updates, it will use 3G/LTE, too. (For map updates, happening once in a blue moon, it will strongly prefer wifi, though)

I would expect that Tesla uses the same CAN message IDs for the S and the X, so there's no reason you shouldn't be able to use TM-Spy on your X. I've used it before and it doesn't care about the model of your car, it simply translates the messages.
