    Trunk latch won't open

    Trunk not walkup unlock

I just returned from Tesla's service center, and the problem turned out to be a control setting issue. In the Lock section of the car panel display, there is a setting labeled "Driver Door Unlock Mode". I believe this is was introduced under a recent firmware update, and that I had turned it on...

    Trunk not walkup unlock

Could it be my 12 volt battery needs replacing? I thought I read somewhere that this may be a tell-tale sign.

    Trunk not walkup unlock

Where is that mode controlled from? The trunk release button and display panel icon to open the trunk won’t work on my car. Only way to open the trunk has been through the app. Same issue with the frunk.

    Trunk latch won't open

I’m having the same problem all of a sudden with my 2020 M3P. Trunk won’t open using screen nor with the trunk lid button. I usually have to “turn off” the car using the lock icon on my phone app and then unlock it again, at which point the vehicle screen icon will release the latch. I think...

Model 3 Trunk Leak After Rain

Just found some water on the trunk liner of my M3. Nothing major, but I also didn't have anything in there to get damaged. I have an appointment tomorrow with the local service center, so we'll see what they have to say. What's disappointing to read is that Tesla doesn't seem to have a solution...

Unhappy with the Resale value for my 2019 Model 3

Is the used car market beginning to soften, or does the M3P depreciate quicker than for the LR? I've got a 2020 model, a mere 1,800 miles, white interior, no FSD, and Carvana is offering only $48.3K. I paid $59.5K before taxes, registration and title, so a $10K hit.

M3P - Who switched from a (true) sports car?

This is an interesting thread. Lots of posts from serious car nuts with experience driving some seriously fast machinery. It is quite refreshing after spending time at other car enthusiast sites, where the mere mention of a Tesla causes other brand loyalists (I'm looking at you Porsche, BMW...

Average age of Model 3 owners?

I suppose that makes me an iconoclast. My Model 3P has zero mods. I like how it came from the factory. I like it even more that with so many on the road now, I can blend in to a sea of white Model 3s. It keeps the LEOs away, and confuses them after I've blown past their radar guns. This Q-ship...

What did you sell/trade for your 3?

'20 Porsche Cayenne S. As heavy as my Model 3P is, that beast weighed 800lbs more, chugged gas like a drunken sailor, and reminded me of my outsized carbon footprint each time I drove it.

    Solar Roof, big price increase

If they stopped doing skylights, it's probably because they've experienced claims with their product, which is why they're saying it could affect the integrity of the completed roof. A reliable roof would be more important to me than some skylights, but it doesn't matter either way because Tesla...

    Solar Roof, big price increase

What an absolute SNAFU by both the city and Tesla. The least Tesla could have done was to honor your contract price given the inconvenience and stress this must have caused you. A trillion dollar company should have a proper customer service department.

    Solar Roof, big price increase

This is interesting. Either it will allow for more energy generation to justify the higher current pricing, or it will allow the same amount of energy to be generated at a lower price point due to fewer solar tiles being used. Or will they maintain the higher price for lower total energy output...

    Solar Roof, big price increase

Interesting. I can see the logic in that, although my previous roof was concrete tile, so not that much easier to penetrate. My home has a sprinkler system throughout, so that may have made a difference. However, in rjpc's case, it sounds like they didn't even give him the option of such a...

    Solar Roof, big price increase

Huntington Beach. It is strange that Tesla would have had to get approval from the County fire authorities. To my knowledge, the only approval Tesla obtained prior to my install was from SoCal Edison, and the City of HB. I understand that there have been numerous Tesla solar roofs installed...
