Model S Driver Fatality in Winnipeg (car hit by dump truck)

Condolences to the family and friends of the driver. I can't verify, but had read an eye witness account that suggested that the truck may have run a red light. Tragic in any event. I understand that there are about 13 Teslas in Manitoba, several of these are located outside of Winnipeg...

SunCountry Level 3 Chargers - Input please

SCH currently have level 2 locations across the Canadian prairies. I could, theoretically, drive from Southern Manitoba to Banff, Alberta in two days using the current infrastructure. It would take a bit of patience and planning, but it could be done. Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Northern...

Green Car of the Year 2014 - includes no Electric Cars

The effect of passing on range....

Yep, agree with this. 10 seconds of full power acceleration from say, 90 kmh and you'll likely be "pinning the needle". Assuming there were a needle to pin that is. I can't give you accurate numbers, but would estimate that even in an S85, I can very quickly overtake vehicles at highway speed...

    Ranger Service Response Times, etc....

I wouldn't necessarily extrapolate from my experience that a significant wait would be involved in the case of a "vehicle down" situation. I hadn't requested service. Evidently, they had a bit of work and the delivery of a few incidental items to deliver (english manual, tesla plate bracket...

    Ranger Service Response Times, etc....

Mayhemm, I'm one of your nearest Canadian neighbours with an S. I didn't schedule a Ranger visit, but was contacted by Tesla that a ranger would be in Manitoba to work on some other cars. They wanted to do some work on mine. I have to compliment Bob on his professionalism. I can imagine...

    Canadian Superchargers

While I understand Tesla needs to be strategic about the placement of SCs and that SK and MB have few Teslas at the moment, I still have the feeling that those of us in the central prairies are paying more (than our US brothers and sisters) and getting less. SCs located along the entire length...

Who enjoys their White Model S? Is Black better?

Yes, black cars stay clean for about 10 minutes. Black has a classic look that will never look dated (IMO). Here's a black car on white background.

Delivery Date Range for Canadian Production cars

Kyle, Yes, our car was delivered on Friday. Scheduled to arrive on Monday the 25th, then delayed until Wed, Thurs, finally arrived on Friday. A combination of truck and weather delays I'm told. It actually worked out well for me as I had been out of the country until Friday morning. Was...

Model S Shows Its True Colors (Photos)

Received our car yesterday. Black on Black. Hard to keep clean, but love how it looks!

Delivery Date Range for Canadian Production cars

Just received a very pleasant call from Hans in Toronto. Our car is in Vancouver to be inspected, detailed and loaded onto an enclosed transport bound for Manitoba!! It should arrive this coming Monday (25th). This is early in our delivery window (Feb 22- Mar 8). The only problem I have is...

    Canadian Service Plan Pricing....

Mayhemm, You and I are geographic neighbours, both of us are about as far from a service centre as is possible. I share your concerns about access to service. The figures you've quoted are those from the service page of the Tesla Canada website, so are the best information we have regarding...

    Car Show Poster: Draft

Great work Todd. Will you give your permission for others to use this? One nitpicking comment... You show a range of rpm of 0-5100 after the torque rating. Many will know that this is the torque rating through 5100 rpm, some may interpret it to mean that the maximum rpm is 5100. I realize...

Delivery Date Range for Canadian Production cars

Sorry to keep this thread OT, but I'd like to know if the TPMS are required as well. I'd heard that the 19" rims can be purchased from Tesla for $1000. If this is the case and the TPMS are not required, I'd get the Tesla rims and buy Nokian Hakka Rs for the 4-5 months of winter driving. Has...

HPWC cost after the fact? Anyone know?

True, $1300 for me. The Tesla rep must not have noticed my Canadian-ness when he's quoted the $1200. Still, $1300 is "around" $1200!
