Auto Defogger - how to turn it off ?

Like other Tesla "auto" functions, it is designed to be left alone. When I first noticed it, I turned it off once or twice, which involved going into the HVAC screen and pressing the defog toggle button, but I now just leave it alone. It works pretty well in my experience. A Tesla is not really...

Old BT Cabinets to become EV chargers…

This is all fine, but what we need is a national specification for pavement crossing cables which, if complied with, will not need permission from the local authority. Council planning/roads departments are where good ideas go to die.

About to leave warranty - any recommendations? Should I get a service?

I had a suspension squeak in the string. Tesla sent a technician to review the whole suspension set up. Result, I was given an appointment at a service centre, where a large number of corroded parts on 3 or 4 sides were replaced under warranty, just before 4 year basic warranty expired. I was...

    UK Highland Orders

To get the benefit of increased sales from a reduced price, potential customers have to know it has happened. There are huge numbers of people who have either never heard of Tesla (we are "special" people on here), or think they still cost £80,000, the price (for a Model S) when they last heard...

LV insurance hike - quick sense check

I obtained quotes (yesterday) from several comparison sites and Direct Line, and LV= is still extremely competitive, if not still cheapest, for my 2019 M3LR, despite nearly doubling from last year (to mid 500s). Disappointing, but I am out of options.

LV insurance hike - quick sense check

My 2019 M3LR quote has gone up in a similar way. I have obtained quotes from several comparison sites and Direct Line, and LV= is still extremely competitive, if not still cheapest. Disappointing.

EAP Not Insured When Driving In EU

The Irish no longer accept the term "British Isles" as including them. You can see why, although the term is useful to a geographer, and they offer no useful alternative. Look at the fuss over the name of the rugby team, the Lions. You can no longer call them the British Lions or the British...

    Tesla Insurance coming to UK

Not sure about the Netherlands, but when I bought my Tesla in the UK it was possible to quote the VIN number to secure insurance before I got my licence plate number.

    Model 3 requiring MOT soon

I took my Model 3 to my local tyre place for a puncture. The guy was clearly terrified of the pucks/lifting issues and more or less said he would do it at my risk. By the time he finished he was happy and confident. Curiously the very next car in line was another Model 3. The owner did not know...

    Model 3 requiring MOT soon

Yes, I used my nearest HEVRA garage, partly because I could be sure it wasn't their first EV, and hopefully also not their first Model 3, and also so I could get a sense of how well they could do other jobs that I would otherwise go to Tesla for (three times further). Cotly Garage in Blairgowrie...

    [UK] 2022.44

Got it in the early hours of 6 December 22. 2019 Model 3 LR. I don't know whether Model, Year etc make any difference to updates. Other than FSD, if you get that you are on a different set of updates (and you are in N America).

No way to remote start heated wipers?

    Wow, first world problems, people!

    It’s getting cold!!

Yup, my 2019 Model 3 just became a 200 mile car instead of the 300 (well 290) mile car it was in the summer. Wish I had a heat pump. In my car AND in my house. Have neither.

What's everyones insurance renewals this year?

I have been with LV= since I got my Model 3 LR in summer 2019. £382 this year, including a fair number of extras (protected max. NCB, Motor Legal expenses), without which £300 on the dot. I got a 5% discount by calling to tell them they were not the cheapest quote I had on renewal. I did indeed...

    High pitched beep on unlocking

This bug appears to have been fixed by update 2022.24.6 on my 2019 Model 3.
