East Bay Service Center on its way

Berkeley is crawling with Teslas. There are at least 4 within walking distance from my house, parked where you can see them. There's a section of Spruce St. that used to have a late-model Bentley parked amidst the 70s Volvo wagons. Berkeley is very diverse and most of us have learned how to...

Ever forgotten to plug in at home?

I'm on an early schedule, so tend to be asleep (and of course awake) earlier than most. My lovely wife has added checking that the S is plugged in to her routine checking that the home doors are closed and locked before she goes to sleep. I encourage her to take the space ship out whenever I can...

How do I get this display of tire pressure?

If you're not careful, you can learn something new every day. Thanks! Tesla should buy out my Google options and hire me to fix their broken UI and when I'm done, let me retire on a steelhead river someplace.

How do I get this display of tire pressure?

Unrelated to the topic of this article, the screen shot at the top displays the pressure of each tire. Tesla issues thorough response following harsh critique of Autopilot by German authorities Any idea how to get this to display? I did not find it in the User's Guide.

    Built in Maps?

This is why I have a mount for a cell phone below the rear-view mirror, so I can use Google Maps to navigate, with offline maps for free. I use the Tesla screen for Waze.

CA drivers using PG&E's EV rates?

Wish my appliances had a feature to set up and then run at a set time.

holder or hook for suit jacket or dry-cleaning

    $30 for 2 -- I shared an order with a coworker.

CA drivers using PG&E's EV rates?

The interesting thing about EV-A if you have solar with PG&E, is that ideally you can contribute to the grid for credit at $0.44/kWh during the day/afternoon and then charge your car after 11p at c. $0.12/kWh. Of course, that's the most extreme example, but it's still worth considering. "Prime"...

holder or hook for suit jacket or dry-cleaning

Hm. No, I just rested it over the edge where the headliner ends in my July 2016 S. There is a gap above the headliner and the pano roof I can fit my hand pretty far into all along there. I wonder if I hung the hook in the wrong spot. Oh, well: not the end of the world. With luck the service...

Media player in 8.0 actually got worse (for local music)

I'm also hoping for better USB support, since it's the only way to get CD-quality audio into the sound system. And I'm hoping they'll also add more robust support for larger USB devices -- I have an SSD with all my music that I plugged in to the USB port and froze my screens. Now I don't dare go...

holder or hook for suit jacket or dry-cleaning

Thanks for the good wishes, but nope: Installed correctly: reached in to hand suit: hangar popped up and away into deepest recesses. Oh well.

holder or hook for suit jacket or dry-cleaning

I was delighted when my black EVhooks came. Split the cost with a coworker who wanted one also (they only come in pairs). Second time I tried to use it, I pushed up on the hook accidentally and it popped off and up and rattled down someplace where I can't reach in the headliner. Added this to my...

    Center Screen Freezes

I had two freezes last week when stopped at a light and tried to browse to electrek.co -- enjoyed the irony.

    TuneIn not recognizing account info

When I called Tesla about this yesterday, they told me that it was TuneIn refusing to allow "third-party apps" to sign in.

    Best PG&E Rate Plan

I get that. The question I have is, if I'm generating (say) 4 or 8 kWh more than consumption during the day (net my advantage), when rates area high, how will that offset my much larger use of kWh at the dead of night to charge the car, at cheap consumption hours?
