    Service centre appointment waiting time

The new Bristol SC seems to have very good availability, I've used them three times in the last 6 months ago (a ranger visit for a recall and a warranty issue, then a service, and then a suspension issue). Appointments available within a few days each time, though they ended up having to push...

Indeed, I would not go back to controlling the Tesla directly. It's easier to use with a second car as well. I do still suspend smart charging, though - often over the course of a weekend there's enough solar to charge the car to 80% and I don't want the smart charging to operate in that case.

Given we have two cars, and one can only charge at 3.6kW, I would expect to see this happen frequently.

It happened again last night, and the car wasn't set to reduced charge rate. Car was set to 90% limit, and I saw 32A charge speed once it started. I plugged in, set to add 70% by 08:00 (car was at 17%) and enabled smart charging. Plan was produced almost immediately, starting at 20:14 until...

Super charge speed if battery not pre-conditioned prior to arrival

“The car will make better judgments than you”. Always? Really? I can easily think of an example where it made a stupid decision that I ignored. Coming west along the m4 it decided to send us past membury westbound, turn around at the next junction, go to eastbound sc because less wait. Even...

My first 2 weeks in a Model 3 Highland (RWD UK)

"Windscreen wipers are in Beta". https://electrek.co/2019/11/28/tesla-auto-wiper-update-trained-deep-neural-net/ That's right, November 2019, 7 days after I collected my car. I'm still waiting for acceptable performance. It wouldn't be hard if they were able to learn from mistakes and had...

    So… Highland is out…

Pretty sure this is why they offered me a test drive instead of a loaner for my service appointment last month. I declined their offer.

I don't know if this has come up, but yesterday I set a plan to add 70% (using Zappi controlled by IO) by 8am and it created a plan starting immediately from 18:14 until 08:00. I noticed that charging was at 3.3kW where the Zappi can charge at 32A. I wondered if it had got stuck like that...

Not a single one is quick to access from the M4 or M5, as far as I can see. I wonder if they're aiming more at people with no off-street parking rather than people on a trip.

Tesla 3 Highlands import from Spain to UK plus a little rant...

He says he bought a Highland. That really ought to be a clue.

A bunch of you are failing to admit that the Tesla way for essential controls is way more complex than it should be. You have to either press the stalk button for a wipe (which is fantastic user experience when what you're trying to do is prevent dry wiping), then you have to look away from the...

Driving on the M74 in variable conditions, auto wipers useless. So I'm constantly having to adjust the speed up and down, and then getting nagged about not paying sufficient attention while doing so. Great job illustrating the fundamental problem with the lack of physical controls (and the awful...
