Does preorder Spec type determine when you can order?

I posted this in another thread but I'm curious to see how they balance telling people who order either AWD variant today that they will be 2024 deliveries vs the million plus reservation holders who, at the time, didn't choose a spec and just left a deposit to get a spot in line. Almost makes...

Reservation Numbers are RANDOM and have no relevance

Curious to see how this plays out. I have a ~6 month old reservation (way back of the line compared to the million plus reservations Tesla talked about) and own 3 Teslas as of now, and last night I saw that either of the AWD Cybertruck versions can be "ordered" with a 2024 delivery. I've also...

Model S existing inventory and pricing

I was able to get auction data from a local dealer to see what had happened and when. Last year this time avg price for a plaid was 125K with avg 5K miles, 6 months ago was 92K with avg 11k miles and past 30 days down to 82K with 13k avg miles. Part of this is also inventory and how long they...

Model S existing inventory and pricing

Are you saying they offered you 69K for a 17 100D? Not even a P100D? They offered me 81K for my 21.5 plaid with 21s and FSD/AP. Told me the same about FSD being worth very little on the used market. I wasn't even really paying attention to any of the price drops but my hummer reservation just...

    Pyro Fuse Fuss

The tech said that the car powers the fuse now and some power is stored within so I took that as some type of onboard battery design built into the fuse now. I could have interpreted that wrong but that is how he explained it to me when I asked what the retrofit meant and how they are avoiding...

Going to inspect from used inventory

Ask for detailed pictures if in person isnt an option. I looked at a used model 3 for my daughter a while ago and learned that sometimes the locations are not exactly known, just the zip code location so going to see one in person isnt always easy. I waited a few days for pictures and saw things...

    Pyro Fuse Fuss

My 2013 needed the fuse replacement. Its VIN 7K something so a pretty early build as well. I got the fuse warning as soon as that software update was rolled out. The main intent of that fuse is to cut power to the high voltage battery in the event of an accident - Same concept as a fuel cutoff...

Model S existing inventory and pricing

Be glad you didn't buy a plaid last spring like I did. Even discounted from 154K to 140K, its now worth 95K (~85K trade in) at best and its barely 18 months old. Today a new plaid can be had for 105K (with some options like 21s and something other thank black interior) before FSD which would...

    Pyro Fuse Fuss

Apologies if this was posted somewhere earlier as I have not read all 4 pages of this thread but having to recently pay for this in my 2013 P85 - This happens because the old design had a battery that could fail. Tesla released a software change a few months ago that now checks the age of that...

2021 Plaid - Here we go again! SSDD and tires...

Just looked at mine which is a 2022 with 11, 361 miles and my rears look nearly identical on the OEM 21s. Very slight wear on the inner edge compared to the outer but nothing Id worry about at this point. I've never gone this long on tires on a model S. My 2013 P85 needed tires every 5-7K miles...

    Bouncy Suspension Model S

I feel the same with my 2022 plaid as well. I still have my 2013 P85 with air suspension and the ride between the 2 is night and day. My 2022 is the smoothest riding car I have ever owned. That said, I do prefer the stiffer ride vs the floaty feeling. I have the settings under advanced dialed...

    Adaptive Ride Control Disabled

Finally got mine in for service. "Replaced chewed up right side chassis harness" was listed as the repair reason. The service rep said they usually charge for this repair when they see this reason as it usually indicates something damaged the wiring, like rodents, but in my case they did not...

    Rear passenger door pops open

Does it make the motor noise like when you pull on the inside of the handle like it thinks the door handle is being operated like normal? I have a 2013 P85 and the front passenger door does this from time to time but its very rare. I had it professionally detailed earlier this year and my wife...

I can no longer recommend Tesla. Their Service is the Worst

I have a 2013 P85 (low 7K VIN) with about 160K miles (also have a new 2022 plaid) and its been in to the newer Lake Forest, CA service center a few times lately for things like the leaking screen, new headlight bulbs, finally needed its first set of rear brakes, etc. I used to only go to Costa...

Refreshed Model S - rear seat rattle

Gaffers tape worked on mine. Passenger rear was the main one but I also wrapped the driver side to prevent anything on that side. I've had both sides wrapped for about a month now and just checked them last weekend and they still look good.
