Going to inspect from used inventory

Anyone had any luck with checking out a car from the used inventory and test driving it beforehand? Is it just depends on location (if they're busy or not) or is it completely off limits?

Ask them. It is not forbidden, just not usually available. Maybe if they want to sell a car these days, they will let you try one.

I'm in the market and my experience with this has been pretty bad. The sale people I've spoken with have been very busy and their time seems to be scheduled. I've requested really photos a few times and the result has been nothing.

Ask for detailed pictures if in person isnt an option. I looked at a used model 3 for my daughter a while ago and learned that sometimes the locations are not exactly known, just the zip code location so going to see one in person isnt always easy. I waited a few days for pictures and saw things like deep scratches in the seats, heavily curbed wheels, etc. so ask for pictures at the very least. You would think this would be a normal thing when selling a used vehicle to have the actual pictures of the car but not the case with Tesla without asking for them.

This is one of the reasons I haven't looked at the Tesla site for the used Model S I'm in the market for. I've heard that its very much a "what you see if what you get " and I feel like its more nuanced, especially with the older models.
