Supercharger - Issaquah, WA - Gilman Blvd. (permit Feb 2022, 16 V3 stalls)

Ah, makes sense. Mississauga is only about an hour and a half drive from Buffalo. Mississauga and the greater Toronto area is considerably closer than any other major metro area. Cleveland and Pittsburg are 3+ hours away, NYC is 6 hours away despite being in NY as well 🤣

    Supercharger - Tacoma, WA - S. Hosmer St. (LIVE 20 Apr 2024, 12 V3 stalls)

Yeah, the app is already updated showing that those stalls are out of order. It seems like a lot of new sites get one instance of vandalism and then the local vandals learn that these liquid cooled cables really don't have a ton of copper in them and then leave the site alone. Also really...

Supercharger - Issaquah, WA - Gilman Blvd. (permit Feb 2022, 16 V3 stalls)

Swung by yesterday. Conduit has been laid in that second trench, and the posts / bases are now on site. Otherwise everything looks about the same. The posts are labeled "Ocelot" which is probably the v4 post codename.

Supercharger - Issaquah, WA - Gilman Blvd. (permit Feb 2022, 16 V3 stalls)

Yeah, I wonder if they got in trouble for overdriving the post outputs. The old posts would routinely do 600+ amps output, but just ignoring the rated output and using temperature monitoring. Maybe the NEVI requirements or something required actually disclosing that max current? Here's a v3...

Supercharger - Issaquah, WA - Gilman Blvd. (permit Feb 2022, 16 V3 stalls)

I think v3.5 is shorthand for a v3 cabinet with the hardware upgrade to speak to CCS cars and support plug and charge via adapters. It felt like 60% or more of the WA chargers got upgraded a month or two ago.

Battery/repair replacement Companies in the PNW

These batteries last an extremely long time, especially in the gen 3 cars (3/Y, 2021 S/X). You can expect at least 500k miles from those newer packs. The issues you'll see most commonly with the older packs had to do with some of the power electronics in the pack and not the battery cells...

Supercharger - Snoqualmie Pass, WA - Location Pin

Yeah, the bigger issue with this location is just that it's at a really high altitude. On a drive last summer in my LR Y it only took 8% to get to the Cle Elum supercharger and 1% to get to the North Bend supercharger from that rest stop. I agree that it would be a really convenient location...

Vendor My journey to making a custom sunglass holder for my M3P and Model Y!

Looking at the design I'm assuming this doesn't work with the 2020 and earlier center console design? I imagine it would get in the way of the phone charger door swinging up into the same space this holder occupies, but hopefully someone here knows 🤞

Supercharger - Seattle, WA - 300 NE Northgate Way

Fantastic! This parking structure services target, Best Buy, and Petco. It’s a much more convenient location if you want to get some shopping done. The only bummer is putting the chargers at the top of the parking structure. I’m sure it’s better for ICEing and fire safety, but it’ll take...

Supercharger - Shoreline, WA (Under Construction Aug 2023, 12 V3 stalls)

Yeah, it looks like a real project to get power run over to this location. They need to run power across the street and then fix the paving and sidewalk. I'm guessing we'll see some programmable signs warning of an overnight road closure for a few days before this site has power and a...

    Supercharger - Bothell, WA - 201st Place Southeast (LIVE 21 Mar 2024, 12 V4 stalls)

Was just dealing with this yesterday coming back from Steven’s Pass. I’d highly recommend the CCS adapter. There are a ton of reliable EvGo and EA stations in the Bellevue/Kirkland area that rarely have a wait. I drove past the new Kirkland supercharger yesterday, saw the line, and hit up the EA...

    Washington State EV Infrastructure Funding

Chargepoint charges about $7k for those 2 plug pedestals you see everywhere and $52k for their 62kw dc charger. Insanity prices compared to Tesla's level 2 and 3 costs. It's likely WA buys all chargepoint stuff. They've said it's 4,710 level 2 pedestals and 271 dc fast charging units. That's 33m...

    Washington State EV Infrastructure Funding

Just my 2c, but as a person that just moved from a place with home charging to somewhere without it, I loath free chargers. My local EA station in Cap Hill is absolutely packed 24/7 and most everyone I talk to are people using their 2 years of free charges most automakers are offering. The...

Puget Sound Energy (PSE) - time-of-use pilot

I looked at this and ultimately didn't pull the trigger, since the most discounted rates are only a 5c/kwh discount over base rates, where as peak rates are 10c or 20c/kwh more expensive. You need to be using 2x-4x the power in offpeak times to just be break even with the old rates. By my rough...

    Drill Front License Plate

I didn’t put anything on the back. Just made correctly sized holes and used a healthy dose of blue loctite.
