Placed an order for an LR, says sept-oct. Does it usually take 4 weeks or 8 weeks these days? Doesn't really matter, just like to prepare. Excited to be back with Tesla again.

I prefer to lease as well, mostly for convenience and less risk. But what the OP is saying is that even if you buy this car and sell it in three years, you will have more money in your pocket. As long as everything goes as planned.

I ended up going the practical route and getting the gls 580. I am pretty impressed how easy it was to cancel the X order, even refunded the $100. I think I will be targeting the model s plaid+ for the fun car. Timing will work out better too.

The wait is getting to me. Local MB dealer just got a nice new gls 580 in stock, it would be nice to have a bigger car again. I think I am going to cancel the X order and wait until they have an X plaid plus.

So do people still have a month listed for delivery? Mine is blank and always had been blank. Original order was early January, and refresh day after announcement.

I am curious why the plaids would be delivered first. How does that help tesla?

Seems odd to me that you would go from an X to a Y just because a month or two delay.

Our current Model X lease ends at the end of March, I am guessing the new one won't come in by then. Do you think it's going to be a process to extend the lease another month or two? With any other manufacture I wouldn't worry, but these guys seem to have no clue how to handle stuff like this.

I just noticed the link that says in Texas you have to have the new Vin on the insurance. This isn't needed with other manufacturers though.

This specifically says to provide insurance with the new car on it. I can't pick up the car without showing the new Vin on the insurance. Might be a Texas thing.

I keep getting emails to complete my insurance. Is that normal? First I don't even have a Vin yet, second why would I add this car to my insurance when it's at least a month away?

You used to be able to get Ludacris mode later on with a paid upgrade. Is that not possible anymore because of the tri motor?

I have a performance on order that I need to update to the refresh. The plaid is about $20k more than the performance, that's quite an increase that I wasn't expecting. Can't decide if I should stick with plaid or switch to long range. Thought it would be fun to have Ludacris mode, but now...
