I'm still impressed and generally have the same thoughts as I initially did, which is that for the money and low effort needed, it is definitely worth it. For me, the biggest improvement is the low end extension and overall accuracy compared to OEM. Maybe slightly more punchy. Just don't get the...

Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation [Car announced 04.23.2024]

I just want the front seats to retrofit into my 2023. Probably wishful thinking, though.

I finished my speaker swap project on my M3P over the weekend. Here's everything I swapped: Sub: Skar SDR-8 D4 Front dash speakers: FaitalPro 4FE35 in the corners, 4FE32 in the center Front door woofers: Dayton Audio SIG180 6.5" with RWAudio adapters Front door tweeters: Dayton Audio AN25 Rear...

    Homelink retrofit install failure

I agree, I feel like it won't be long before you cannot do a self retrofit and have Tesla fix the configuration. That's why I got mine ASAP.

    Homelink retrofit install failure

I've had the Homelink retrofit in our MY for a year now and love it, so I went ahead and purchased a new module off of eBay for my new M3 despite knowing it would likely fail and I'd have to hope that Tesla would fix it despite installing it myself. I made a mobile appointment, and when they...

Anyone tried to DIY install homelink?

Anybody on the current 2024x software successfully able to install and activate Homelink? I just received a brand new unit but see folks having issues with the current software version

It's honestly very easy. There are quite a few videos on Youtube showing how to remove the sub/amp. I turned off the main screen, just do a quick Google search on how to power down a Tesla screen and that's all you need to do in my experience. You don't have to do anything special with the...

I would say yes. It's quite obvious that the Skar extends deeper which alone is worth the 100 bucks and 30 minutes of time, at least to me. Beyond that, even on the stock amp I subjectively feel that the Skar hits a bit harder in general. But if nothing else, the low end extension is absolutely...

That looks great. The Metra adapter does not recess the factory screws enough and they interfere with mounting. I'll probably replace it if I ever go back in there for some reason.

Yes, I used the Metra 82-8606, however I don't really recommend it. I would get one from RW Audio or Amped Garage.

Great insight! I agree on the Skar and think it's very good for what it is, even on the stock amp. Can't wait to see how the Dayton Audio AN25 tweeters sound with the SIG180 door woofers.

Great post, thanks for sharing! I've been quite pleased with my Skar sub so far, even with the stock amp. Interesting findings on the Dayton Sig180, makes me wonder if I should reconsider prior to installing my Focal ISU 200. I have a set of Dayton Audio tweeters for the doors (AN25) that I got...

Aftermarker Sound Upgrade of 3 Front 4" speakers

If you’d be interested, I have Dayton Audios with brackets and harnesses available, long story short I got them with a package deal and I don’t need them as I got ISU200 with tweeters.

Thank you for the feedback, that sub must be insane! I have the same speakers ready to go in the dash. I wonder if doing the rear doors vs rear deck would be better, unless doing both.

Assuming you have premium audio in that case? Which speakers did you swap and what brand did you install? I was under the impression that changing the rears didn't help much
