Autopilot more sensitive after the latest updates?

I find it best to just rest one hand on the steering wheel with autopilot on. It provides just enough torque for it to know you're there. I used to keep both hands on and it can't tell if you have any hands on at all.

    Any experience with Nankang AR-1?

I've heard good things on other forums about the AR-1's for track junkies, as they're cheaper, have pretty good grip, and last longer than the other options. I haven't heard as much about the ones that are more suited for the street : Nankang NS-2R. They might work well for Autocross, but don't...

    AutoX class question

I found they don't care until you're beating them. Last year I just said I was in STU, because that seems like where it *should* go with just wider wheels. (I was only running 235 wide tires, and I still go dirty looks in BS)

Premature tire wear from regen braking system

I have a P3D, and a Model S 90D. The 90D had near perfect tire wear without rotating tires. The P3D wears more on the rear. I think the major difference is that the P3D uses different motors front and rear. The regen (and forward moving) force is stronger on the rear tires due to having...

Model 3 Winter Tire Pressure Recommendations

I run 42-45 for efficiency, and 35-38 for comfort and grip.

    Track Tire/wheel Set Advice

I was considering getting the S007's mostly for street use when my RE-71R's wear out next year. I don't plan on autocrossing it as much next year. Have you been satisfied with the S007A for street use?

M3P vs winter tires - in Boston, MASS

Tire rack has some decent cheap 18x8" wheels from their own TR brand that work fine.

Nokian Hakkapeliitta R3 or Sottozero 3?

This! is probably the most significant difference. I put some studless snow and ice tires on my cars before, and I won't do that again. There is too much tire squirm for me. But, for my wife's Model S, we put on the Nokian WR-G3 (or 4), and they're fine. They're more of an all season tire that's...

    Mystery Clunk under Hard Braking

I've heard that clunking issue a few times autocrossing my car. I have 19x9.5" +35mm offset wheels, but 235mm tires. So, it's unlikely the tires hitting. Or more specifically, it's unlikely to be caused by wider tires.

    SCCA Autocross

My wife went autocrossing with me her second time last weekend. The advice that seemed to help her was, follow the course (that's why they say walk it a few times) and then add speed by trying to keep it tight (stay close to the important cones so you're not wasting distance/time going way...

SCCA Autocross Class for the Model 3

Thanks again for the info. Please let us know if you hear anything about official classing. I guess I'll have to be more careful that I look at the recent rules. 265 width is clearly a lot better for us.

SCCA Autocross Class for the Model 3

Any update on classing? I ran in B Street for the first autocross event, but I heard some grumbling about my wider wheels. So, I ran with BSP next event. I think now I'll register for STU, since I'm running narrow enough tires for AWD (max is 245 for STU), and the PAX is lower than BSP. I...

    Track Tire/wheel Set Advice

Because the 235's were lighter, cheaper, and probably more efficient on the road. And, I wasn't sure if this car was going to end up being my autocross car or not. But, I'll probably go wider next time, but that's mostly because they look silly stretched wide like that. They did perform very...

    Aero wheels on P3D+

Yeah, I feel like doing a DIY aero wheel cover for the winter. Summer range isn't generally an issue, and I don't want to cover the brakes just in case. But, in the winter, warming brakes shouldn't be so much of a concern, and I need to make up for the lost efficiency.
