    Supercharger - Slidell, LA

It has indeed started constructionist! Pedestals are already going up. For those of you who want to come see, its closest to the Capital One bank and is surrounded by chain link fence covered with black cloth to screen it off.

If I get out there this weekend I'll look for it too and take some pics if I see any activity.

A Model S caught fire while supercharging in Norway (link in Norwegian)

Of course this is serious and I hope Tesla quickly figures out what happened. But to add to the chorus of "why don't ICE fires get more attention," check out these links. Obviously they made the press or I couldn't share links, but they certainly didn't get the scrutiny that any Tesla mishap...

How satisfied are you with the non-AP (Classic) V7.0

I'm not that concerned with the look; I like some of the changes, don't like others. But what is most important is that I can see the information provided on the instrument cluster and this update has made that more difficult for me. There is less contrast on the speedometer/energy circle...

Weird Request- Supercharger in South Hill, VA

I was there twice this past week on a trip to DC and back. I brought cat food but didn't see any cats. My first stop was in the evening after dark and my second stop was on a rainy afternoon so I hope that's why. I hope they're okay.

    Supercharger - Greenville, SC

Inquiring Minds Want to Know This doesn't matter. What's done is done. But I really wanted to know why the first Greenville supercharger site was abandoned. In general, most court documents are public record so I got copies. Very briefly: The plaintiffs and defendants own adjacent property...

    Supercharger - Houston, TX

I hadn't looked at supercharge.info or the TMC site for a while so this news was a nice surprise. Thanks for the recon and photos. It is will be great to have a supercharger in Houston! No more driving through the maze of Galleria parking lots trying to find the HPWC's.

Indiana Tesla owners and future owners

Thank you. I've made the trip a couple of times already but obviously more superchargers will make it even easier.

Indiana Tesla owners and future owners

Hi, I'm originally from southern Indiana (Madison). I was just looking at Tesla's map of future supercharger sites and it's hard to tell but it almost looks like one is planned for near there, maybe Jeffersonville? Or maybe it's Louisville, hard to tell which side of the river the pin is on...

    Supercharger - Mobile, AL

Last week I stayed at the Hotel Magnolia just a couple of blocks down the street from Ed Benson's Appliance Center (I charged there, thank you again, Ed). Beautiful old hotel; I recommend it.

Random Ramblings on 20 Months of Model S Ownership - Part II

Nice story, I enjoyed reading it. Thanks. I've never driven through the Texas Hill Country, maybe I'll take a drive out there one of these days just for fun. Your description and photo make it sound appealing.

Supercharger - DeFuniak Springs, FL (I-10 between Tallahassee & Pensacola)

I hadn't seen that list, good info. I tried adding my review but my post appears at the bottom, in "comments." I don't know how to post it under the Florida section. Update: now my comment there seems to have completely disappeared. You're welcome to post the info there yourself...

Supercharger - DeFuniak Springs, FL (I-10 between Tallahassee & Pensacola)

Yes, it is a pretty long stretch. At the beginning of my trip I drove straight from Baton Rouge to Mobile though with no problems, I did keep my speed down (60-65) to be sure I'd make it, especially since I was leaving on a cold windy morning. Returning kind of late on a Sunday, again in kind...

Supercharger - DeFuniak Springs, FL (I-10 between Tallahassee & Pensacola)

I charged in Mobile at Benson Appliance Center. It's listed on Tesla's map as a charging partner. The owner of the appliance store has a HPWC in front of the store available for public use 24/7.

    P85D rear oil leak? WHAT

My car had a tiny oil leak last year. I wasn't even aware of it (or aware that it had any oil) until my service manager noticed it and mentioned it to me. It was no big deal and they took care of it at my first annual service appointment. I think a seal needed to be replaced.

Supercharger - DeFuniak Springs, FL (I-10 between Tallahassee & Pensacola)

Just a note to say that I visited the DeFuniak Springs supercharger twice on a round trip last week from Baton Rouge, Louisiana to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. On the return trip, I stayed at the Hotel DeFuniak and definitely recommend it. It's in the historic district just 2 blocks from the...

Do you drive a red P85? I saw one with a Texas plate yesterday at the BR charger, I was there for about 20-30 minutes.

    Supercharger - Mobile, AL

Another thing to consider when planning longer trips is getting off the interstate and instead, taking US or state highways. Often they roughly parallel interstates but with lower speed limits and less traffic, which can make for a more pleasant drive anyway but especially if you need to drive...

Owner robbed at gunpoint and Model S stolen while supercharging in Barstow...

If you have the fob in your hand and don't have to dig it out of a pocket or purse. I usually don't have it in my hand, that's why I use the lock button on the control screen.

Owner robbed at gunpoint and Model S stolen while supercharging in Barstow...

Controls, lock doors. But it's two steps. Actually, a lot of the time when I exit my car I leave the controls screen up so that it's easy to lock the doors as soon as I get back in and pull my door closed. I just tap the lock button on the controls screen. I also would like the option of...

Owner robbed at gunpoint and Model S stolen while supercharging in Barstow...

Terrible that this happened, I'm glad the driver is okay. If nearby businesses are open, its probably safer to leave your car locked and charging instead of sitting in it, although I've spent plenty of time sitting in my car while charging, too. And although it would not prevent what happened...

    Firmware 6.1 - For Classic Model S

Yes, you can still display rated miles. I find that requires less mental arithmetic, too. I'm not sure I can tell you exactly where it is unless I'm sitting in my car (which I am not at the moment), but I believe it's in the settings screen where you can adjust units displayed (24 hr...

    Firmware 6.1 - For Classic Model S

I've been happy with Tesla's onboard navigation tools, with over 26k miles on my car including a few road trips. Was just curious if anyone else noted the change but sounds like most of you don't look at the rated miles as much as I do. I often play a little game as I drive comparing my miles...

    Firmware 6.1 - For Classic Model S

Has anyone else with a classic Model S noticed a big jump in rated range after the 6.1 update? I searched for this on the forum but only found threads relating to the P85D. Before the update, a 90% charge would get me about 225 rated miles. Since the update, a 90% charge gets me something...

    Supercharger - Lake Charles, LA

I posted to the BR SC thread but probably should have put it here -- I charged in Lake Charles twice on Saturday (very early and very late). I had no problems but can confirm that 1A & 1B were still out of service.

    Supercharger - Baton Rouge, LA

I charged at Lake Charles twice on Saturday (very early and very late) going to and from Houston. 1A & 1B were not operational but I had no problems charging on another one (not sure which ones I used). I was the only Tesla there both times.

    Firmware 6.1 - For Classic Model S

I don't have the update (still on 6.0) and after reading this about decreased regen braking, I'm not sure I want it. I probably shouldn't simply ignore the update when I get the notification but I'm wondering if the new features will be worth losing the current regen settings. For those of you...

TMC Members! What was your first Tesla experience?

I first read about Tesla in my boss's Stanford alumni magazine, the January/February 2008 issue. For some reason it really captured my imagination and I decided that if I could, I would buy Tesla's economy car when it was available. Back in January 2008 Tesla's timeline was very optimistic...

    Supercharger - Baton Rouge, LA

Too many updates? At lunch today, January 6. Bright sunshine was nice for a change except I couldn't see what I was taking pictures of. They're cleaning up and prettying up; I think you can see in the photos that a cement block enclosure is being built around the metal equipment cabinets...
