I don't think this is an EA charger issue. The show promoted that Rivian had built its own network of charging stations along the route for the series, but the first 3 episodes that network isn't anywhere to be seen.

Its not a fancfiful claim though, FEV Labs tested it, using the EPA procedure, to come up with the 500+ figure (517 miles was their evaluation). Motortrends did a real world test on the vehicle driving it 100%-0% and got 490 miles.

Rivian built a charging network up South America for their appearance in the Long Way Up series, so maybe they won't be as adverse to building out charging stations as other automakers (would be especially neat if they could build them in the far flung places, since they're meant to be off road...
