i had the same trunk alignment issue in the same spot. I had to take my car in for them to fix a scratch on the car and while it was there they told me the same thing about it being in spec but they still fixed it.

for you in maryland it may not be an issue but for me in Vancouver it is a major issue. We get A LOT of rain here and in the winter my windows fog up a lot so I use the defroster to clear it away from the back window. When you combine the rain with shorter days it makes it hard enough at night...

they might want to look at turning down how hot the wires get which may cause less noticeable distortion. Yes, it would take a little longer to defrost/defog the window but it's a fair trade off for me.

i'm pretty confident in saying that you need to have your car with you to trade in when you purchase the car as they will want to inspect it to ensure it is in the condition you stated it was in.

i started the process to trade in my vehicle on a tuesday and didn't get an answer until friday. For me, their trade in department was very slow so if you are in a hurry, it may potentially cause an issue.

best suggestion I have to speed things up is to not trade in a vehicle if you don't have to. That was the biggest bottle neck for me.
