It's a pricing decision. Same reason they won't upgrade the pack. Oh, they'll upgrade the firmware if it's a recert, but not if the car has been assembled with different electronics. VIN in the MCU doesn't match? Out the door. Other parts don't match up? Same.

The Tesla-certified body shop charges $1,500, and then the SC charges from $300-$1,500, depending on whether any work needs to be done. Remember, there is no warranty. And you don't want to own a car unless it can get OTA updates and use the Superchargers.

The charger gasket wasn't tight, as it clearly leaked. The car wasn't deep, so it's not a question of pressure. The body panels aren't as bad as I'd thought they would be. You should replace all the wiring harnesses, although you still have a bad inverter/motor and pack.

There are too many variables here, not even considering the parts situation and that it's an aluminum car. You have to actually inspect it in person to see whether there's structural damage, and you have to know what to look for as it can be hidden. If there is, you must take special measures...
