    2021 EV Tax Credit

I'm not sure if this post is even for real, but did you do like any research prior to your purchase!? You could've found that out pretty quickly with even minimal research.

    Giga Texas Updates

Yeah. Tesla would literally need to ship them to a holding ground in a neighboring state and then transport them back to Texas for us to purchase them. The most ridiculous nonsense ever, we have our great compromised state lawmakers to thank for that. I'd imagine transport costs would still be...

    Giga Texas Updates

I’ve had a Model Y LR on order since October and a couple weeks ago until this past weekend the EDD has been a consistent 1/19 - 1/28, so I figured delivery was imminent. On Sunday it suddenly changed to 2/5 - 3/5 and has been this all week. I know EDD fluctuation is nothing unusual with Tesla...

Some 2022 Model Ys shipping with MCU3 (AMD Ryzen)

What we do know for sure is any range increase isn't the direct result of the AMD. I'd like to see Tesla update US numbers (assuming current figures don't already reflect the change).

2021.44.30.7 update caused lte and WiFi connectivity issue

I say report it. I suppose this is the only drawback of being "Advanced" software update users. We're essentially the beta testers. 😉

Tesla's amateurish service lives up to its bad reputation

This. I've experienced loaner availability issues with my Audi dealership that I never have in the past. Not saying Tesla should get a pass as they've created the reputation they currently have, but I'm thinking lots of dealers cashed out some of their loaner fleet due to the shortages.

If this really is true, I now prefer the Atom! 😃

As far as I know it's only to adapt to other vehicles on the road to prevent blinding them as pixels will dynamically adjust to accomplish this.

Some 2022 Model Ys shipping with MCU3 (AMD Ryzen)

I like someone's comment on it: "Do I get this right: the car has less range so that one may play more sophisticated games in it? Priorities!" He's right! 😆

Some 2022 Model Ys shipping with MCU3 (AMD Ryzen)

Truthfully I'd be content either way. Not sure what the Ryzen chip is going to improve in terms of user experience other than gaming. I have the Atom in my '21 M3 and never once have I thought anything in the UI felt laggy. I certainly wouldn't cancel my reservation over this, that seems a bit...

    2021 Headlight black spots

This is partially true. The Infrastructure Bill paved the way for "Adaptive driving beam headlamps" to become legal soon. The Transportation Secretary has 2 years from date of enactment to make this technology legal in the US. As of today it is not, which is why Tesla can't do anything with them...

Please report back as soon as you hear. My EDD range tightened to 1/19-1/28 and looks like I'll be taking delivery shortly after you.

Phantom braking in my new Model Y

I know its not really a solution per se, but I'm curious if just disabling "Automatic Emergency Braking" under Autopilot settings would prevent these phantom braking incidents altogether. Clearly the actual resolution would be via a software update.

Exactly. I'll pay a whopping $10 more to just buy them with pegs already lol.

Did not receive the Holiday V11 software update and cannot update.

I wish. This is the drawback of constant over-the-air updates. While new features are always welcome, I simply can't stand when a UI that everyone has grown so used to is overhauled with "improvements" that some genius figured would be better for everyone with no recourse to go back. You'd think...

Help! Not accepting vehicle on delivery?

I know some would disagree, but I've always thought it to be a bit crazy how some buyers go with a checklist looking for issues. If you thoroughly examine the vehicle without a checklist and are content, shouldn't that be enough? With a checklist you'd let something bother you that you may not...

FedEx lost my Tesla Shop order, and no response from Tesla

Tesla Shop has ridiculous customer service. The only way to contact them is via email and its a crap shoot on if/when they respond. There have been times someone has responded the same day, and other times where it took 2 weeks and 10+ emails to get a response. I'm convinced they have about 2...

Car not waking from sleep in the morning

I don't yet have my MY, but do have a M3. I can tell you the app connects to your car via mobile data. I don't even have my phone paired to my M3 via Bluetooth and communicate with it through the app all the time. I'd say both your car and phone need sufficient data connectivity (decent signal...

Any Texans opened a new Tesla Insurance policy yet?

I don't have FSD either, but the Safety Score menu item appeared in my Tesla iPhone app when I opened my policy. Are you sure you don't see it anywhere in the app? Could your policy somehow not be correctly linked to your Tesla account? I'm not aware of another way to access your score other...

    July order- still no VIN

That's really weird. Have you already reached out to order support to inquire? Maybe your profile is incomplete? At this point wouldn't you just prefer to take delivery in 2022 to take advantage of the potential ev tax credit if something passes?

    Take over leased Model Y

https://www.tesla.com/support/leasing/end-lease-early#lease-transfers You can also try selling your leased Y to a company like Carvana. With the current used market being what it is that may work out even better for you.

Tesla EV Tax Credits coming back?

Reality is the wealth is really being transferred to automakers and maybe that's not a bad thing if the goal is to reduce the number of ICE vehicles produced and on the road. If automakers set MSRP taking into account the tax incentive (and make no mistake about it, they do), then that money you...

Tesla EV Tax Credits coming back?

Interesting, never quite thought of it in this way. It's true that this incentive is just as much to encourage auto makers to invest in EVs by incentivizing the purchase for consumers. That's partially why I disagree with the rhetoric of who does and doesn't need it.

    What's Your Score?

Very true, trying to maintain a high score completely takes the fun out of driving. Some of these measurables are unavoidable with normal driving and not worth the hassle.
  31. thinktwice

    What's Your Score?

I don't have FSD, but do have Tesla Insurance. I'm certain the scoring is exactly the same. This is from 10/22 (when I opened my policy) to today, 11/17. You'll get dinged for hard braking by just letting off the accelerator and letting only regen brake for you, completely unrealistic. You need...

Tesla will use camera to monitor driver behavior

This video seems to be after the update, not sure why the interior camera didn't detect anything when the officer states he witnessed the driver sleeping with his head down. Truth is if you really want a white interior and are considering it enough to ask for advice from others, get it. Another round of Tesla price bumps [Nov 2021]

Can you really blame Tesla? With demand where it currently is and consumers paying what they're paying for used Tesla's, it would almost seem irresponsible to not increase prices.
  37. thinktwice

Tesla EV Tax Credits coming back?

I don't think that'd ever actually happen. Competition will prevent this. For something like this to work, all manufacturers would need to collude. It would only take one of them to start producing more to sell more for the rest to follow.

Tesla EV Tax Credits coming back?

I certainly don't dispute what they can and can't do, I just wouldn't be happy about it if I'm negatively affected, fine print or not. A few weeks off, ok. Heck, even a month off is acceptable. But if your estimates are 3-4 months off, that's just not good business practice. This is a large...

Tesla EV Tax Credits coming back?

I think all of us who ordered before the most recent price hike will get screwed. If my order gets canceled because I decline to take delivery this year I'm going to be pissed. I placed my order with the expectation that I'd be taking delivery next March.

Tesla EV Tax Credits coming back?

Oh crap, I hope I'm not next. I've been stuck on a Jan 21 - Feb 18 EDD for a while now and that would work out perfectly for me. I now don't want to miss out on the tax credit and there are lots of us in the same boat. This is why making it retroactive would've made sense, now no one wants to...

Model Y on 100% charge not showing the advertised range

Did he say it would degrade 10% the first year, then less after that? Or did he say 10% per year? Also, how many miles do you have on your Y? I know there are many threads on this topic, but I've gotta call BS on the info he gave you.

Constantly being careful to drive "safely" to keep your Safety Score high definitely changes the way I drive now, although I've always considered myself a safe driver. I've been able to maintain a score of 99 since I opened the policy and my projected monthly payment if I can keep this score is...

Tesla historically has changed to the new model year October/November, but the changes coinciding with the new model year is just a guess on my part. I believe since you haven't received a VIN yet the new changes would apply to your vehicle. I'd call Tesla Order Support to see if they can...

Discussion: Updated Range and 0-60 times for Model 3 and Y

Discussion: Updated Range and 0-60 times for Model 3 and Y

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say what's really happened here is Tesla got more specific detailing different configurations whereas before it was likely a blanket range number based on the ideal configuration (aero wheels) not taking into account wheel options. But who really knows, just...

    Model Y Build Quality Improving?

Very true. There's always some jerk speeding past in a parking lot completely ignoring the fact that you're trying to back out of a space. I've become super paranoid as I've had to slam on my brakes a couple times to avoid collision as the backup cam alone isn't sufficient. I've felt cross...
