Couldn't agree more.. couldn't kill the Bug no matter how you abused it. And if you did need repairs, 30min of your time got you a complete replacement engine from the local junkyard for $200. Just don't ask for defroster in the winter though :p

At least the A/C is non-cosmetic and should be an easy fix once diagnosed at the SC. You are very fortunate to have a MY with no paint/alignment issues... no way would I give that up because of A/C issues.

They might have kept a pretty good stockpile of the 2-piece casting on hand in case there were problems getting the new one-piece casting machine up and running/calibrated. It would be great to know the date or VIN when they actually started incorporating the one-piece casting in MY's.

I just changed the color from white to another color via the EDIT function and saved the change... that got me the new price. Don't have a VIN either.

Sorry to say- having it "in writing" doesn't mean what it used to... the Delivery Advisor notes "customer not happy with door alignment, tail light and chargeport door alignment". The Service Center works on your car 3 wks later and returns it un-repaired with a notation on the service ticket...
