Who Bought My 2021 Model Y? Was it you???

In the past, like when I sold my 2107 Bolt to Vroom... I was locked out of MyChevrolet app almost the next day. I originally thought that would happen with the Tesla app too once Carvana got it? Amazing the app still works/tracks the car almost a month later. I'll remove it from my Tesla account...

Who Bought My 2021 Model Y? Was it you???

Dealers, Carvana, etc.. always remove "extras" left in the cars they sell. I've been told that several times in the past.

Who Bought My 2021 Model Y? Was it you???

Why not? Nothing to hide and as I mentioned above.. lots of value in the remaining warranties alone. Just the PPF lifetime warranty is worth $1,500+. I also have the OEM parts I have no use for, maybe the new owner wants them? I see it as a Tesla "community" where we are open to helping other...

    Cybertruck

Same here... I reserved the tri-motor for the range as well. We have a place in upstate NY which is 160mi each way from our home on LI. I'd love to be able to make it there and back without having to stop and charge. If they offered a dual-motor version with the max battery I would have...

Who Bought My 2021 Model Y? Was it you???

Lol... thank you for the unsolicited advice my friend. And they say NYers are paranoid :D Trying to be helpful to the new owner! See below..... New owner may want to know why the side mirrors are blue? Because they're Summa Performance Blue Convex Heated Wide Angle rear view mirrors. Maybe...

Who Bought My 2021 Model Y? Was it you???

^ because in 2020 my work situation changed from 5 days a week 50mi round trip commute to primarily working from home now. I felt the resale value for the car was high (which it was- Carvana paid me more than I paid for it in Nov 2020) as it was going to get and the car was still in perfect...

Who Bought My 2021 Model Y? Was it you???

I sold my 2021 LR Model Y Midnight Silver/White Interior (2Kmiles on odometer) to Carvana about a month ago... My Tesla app is still working and I'l been following it from Long Island... For 3wks it's been sitting still in Manheim PA until a few days ago when it went inside a nearby building...

What cars have you owned before your Model 3?

Like many before, I've gone through a lot of vehicles since I got my drivers license in 1979. I've had a fun mix of exciting cars, utility vehicles and plain Jane models, but by far, and I mean very far.. the worst car I've ever had the misfortune of owning was the : 1975 Triumph TR-7 Thinking...

Anyone switching to a Rivian R1T after watching reviews?

I sold my 2021 MY (at a small profit even after sales tax) to Carvana last month, so if Rivian called me today- I would take delivery this afternoon ;)

Cyber truck will be the best selling vehicle ever

Very strange, hopefully it's just a Tesla site glitch... we've seen them before. Early this week I switched my res from a twin motor to the tri-motor config, and I did get an email acknowledgment. Maybe my timing was good for a change?

Anyone switching to a Rivian R1T after watching reviews?

According to the latest reports, they are actually producing customer (other than Rivian employee/press) R1T's right now.. There are R1T's finished and ready to be delivered and deliveries are being scheduled now.

Cyber truck will be the best selling vehicle ever

^ well what's the difference if they ignore a old school side mirror or they ignore the electronic version? The accident will still happen. Maybe it will be recorded with the electronic mirror and will show them at fault? It may actually force knuckleheads to drive better?
  13. NY_Rob

Cyber truck will be the best selling vehicle ever

I'm on the fence regarding side view mirrors... but if push comes to shove, I would rather go without them. I had an electronic rear view mirror in my Bolt and it provided way better visibility than a standard rear view mirror. It had such a wide view you generally didn't need the side view...

^ yes, we noticed... and many are not too happy about it since like Tesla's FSD it's "limited" and mostly still considered beta at best.

How many will look into the F-150 Lightning?

Well does anyone know an ICE owner that likes wasting time at smelly gas stations touching germ laden pump handles and paying $4-$5/gallon gas with no end in sight? That might have something to to with increased interest in EV's.....

^, yes... Full sheets of plywood, drywall, paneling, etc.... CHECK Refrigerator... CHECK Air Compressor, lawn mower, bags of mulch... CHECK 8' studs... CHECK Good enough for the average homeowner, not designed for work-a-day contractors hauling 12' lumber, 10' pipe, etc (unless they use a...

Anyone switching to a Rivian R1T after watching reviews?

I respect your opinion on R1T looks like I assume you respect the opinion of those who think the R1T is nice looking. That aside, if you have a chance... take a look at the Rivian off road event that took place in the Colorado outback... you may come away impressed by the capabilities and the...

Cyber truck will be the best selling vehicle ever

Everything else aside, I think it's a safe bet that the CT's coming off the line a year or two after launch will be very different than the early release trucks. Tesla's policy of continual improvements should really hit it's stride with the completely new manufacturing process of the CT. Just...

Cyber truck will be the best selling vehicle ever

Public (non-Tesla) charging is a disaster at this time. Between stations being off line, session errors, ICE'd, "removed for maintenance" and never replaced, etc.. etc.. etc.. there is no way to know for sure that the station you used to plan your road trip yesterday will be available today or...

Cyber truck will be the best selling vehicle ever

Well, according to some accounts there are approximately one million orders for the CT right? Look at it this way... if Tesla raises the price $5K -$10K before/at delivery time they are gonna have one million pissed off reservation holders to deal with

Anyone switching to a Rivian R1T after watching reviews?

^ Agreed, but to EV newcomers local widespread factory support is comforting. Heck, I held off purchasing my MY and M3 until our local (less than 5mi from our house) service center officially opened in 2020. Knowing what I know now, I'm fine with Rivian sending a mobile tech to me. If their QC...

Exciting times ahead!! To me, one thing that may put Ford in the lead for first time EV buyers is their vast established dealer network. Until you realize just how reliable EV's are.. the dealer support network may be a big factor in your buying decision. Here is my dealer visit log from past...

Anyone switching to a Rivian R1T after watching reviews?

Exactly! Range is not very important to me as my daily commute is ony 50mi round trip and the weekend trip to the local boat ramp is less than 5miles. My boat+ trailer is slightly under 3,500lbs and the RT1 should have no problems pulling it from the water. We also get a decent amount of snow...

Anyone switching to a Rivian R1T after watching reviews?

I was very impressed by the Colorado RT1 off road event. I also downloaded the owners manual and read all 168 pages, some really great features in the truck. I did place an order for the top level trim RT1... As to the price, -$7.5K fed tax credit and -$2K NY State Drive Clean Point of Sale...

How many will look into the F-150 Lightning?

I also tow... 3,500lb boat, about 5mi to the ramp and back. Salt water use, but shouldn't be a problem with the SS body of the CT and always a full rinse with garden hose back at the house.

Rivian Reviews (Articles, Writeups, Videos) on Rivian Forums Website

The kitchen is innovative for sure, but I have no need for it. Looks like it works well. I did order the full-size spare tire though, to me that's a 'must have' item. Too bad it's $600, but it's large and the rim is expensive too (and it includes a TPMS sensor) so not really a bad deal. I...

I have a CT reservation, but I'm very interested in the Rivian after watching several of the "hands on" RT1 Colorado trail testing videos. IDRA 8000 Ton Aluminum Press material concerns with Cybertruck Stainless Steel Material

^ I was about to mention that my 2015 Evinrude E-TEC outboard motor has a large mix of aluminum and Stainless Steel... It's exposed to salt water pretty much every weekend over the summer (then flushed/rinsed with fresh water at home) and shows zero signs of corrosion in six years of service...

How many will look into the F-150 Lightning?

Now that's pretty funny.... "irrelevant"? Wow.... lots of Tesla haters in the so called "press". Tesla is so far ahead of other EV makers it's like comparing an NFL Linebacker to the local Jr. High player. Maybe someone should let Elon know his cars are becoming "irreverent" so he can get out...

    The Tesla Buying Experience

One strategy I've found that helps speed things up at a traditional stealership is to schedule your pickup just before closing on a Friday evening. Trade in now or wait to sell when CT3 comes out?

Save your $10K for now because currently FSD is IMO "fools gold" for us but pure profit for Te$la. It's pretty much unusable at this point and now is undergoing a major revision with "Vision Only" cars. No one knows if it will actually ever be usable as described with the current hardware in...

Range predictions and sleeping in a Cybertruck

Thanks @swengl ... you are probably correct and, the new tabless cells will probably be easier to cool via less complex endplate/flat cooling path vs. the "cooling snake" they currently use. Win-win!!

Range predictions and sleeping in a Cybertruck

^ he's likely inferring that the CT will require more energy to travel 100mi vs. the M3 or MY so it will take longer to charge the CT after driving said 100mi vs the more efficient designs.

    Very Dim Backup/Reverse Lights?

^ it's not really a crushed black issue, it's an overall gain issue. IDK if it's some kind of mode triggered by the backup lights or the backup lights are being caught in the lens and that is causing the reaction? As soon as the BU lights come on... the overall scene gets much darker. As I...

Tesla Claims Warranty is Void Due to Aftermarket Puddle Lights

Voltage is dependent on current draw (amperage) of the connected device. If the aftermarket light draws more current than the OEM light it could cause a voltage drop on that circuit.
