    New M3P feels slow

I just came to post this video but you beat me to it. Mine (2021 model 3 performance) is lethargic in certain conditions and I assumed it wasn’t functioning correctly, until I saw this video the evening afterwards. Obviously this isn’t right and needs to be fixed, but at least it isn’t specific...

FSD / AP Rewrite - turning the corner?

In which case, the reference to the EU was more valid, as the USA in general seems to be adopting FSD more readily than the rest of the UNECE.

FSD / AP Rewrite - turning the corner?

But the USA is in UNECE, no?

I don’t think it can turn on with a faulty camera?

    Range in app?

So if true, and this is just a matter of a cold battery, rather than an under performing battery, well that’s make a bit more sense. wltp long range is 360 and performance is 352. epa long range is 353 and performance is 315. So I’m actually just 11 miles off the epa which is fine. Of...

    Range in app?

Exactly. But going off other replies, it’s completely normal (because it’s cold - my car is garaged) that the range stated when charged will not be close to the rated range and I don’t have any strange behaviour that at four days old, the car reports 274 miles at 90% charge out of 352 miles...

    Range in app?

I am a little worried in that the Webchat assistant said that it being less than the rated (by such an extent) is wrong. It will be interesting to see whether this is an issue or just bad wording/communication.
  8. P

    Range in app?

You cannot automatically then assume that the low range reported is a failure of the system to accurately calculate the capacity of the battery, it could be that the battery is not behaving correctly. I think we have got beyond the confused posts trying to argue real range vs. rated range are...
  9. P

    Range in app?

Exactly, thank you. And comments about EPA vs. WLTP are not the point, the result is roughly the same.
  10. P

    Range in app?

"It will show the rated range as per the manual, until the battery starts getting recalibrated/degrading in which case, it will display a figure based upon what the car thinks the range is determined from the EPA factor and estimated battery capacity. So if the usable battery was deemed to be...

    Range in app?

It is completely different to the question. That is "rated" vs. "real world" economy. Once again, this is a question of whether the app should report the rated range or a calculated range. The manual states rated, so mine should say 352 miles, but it in fact says 304 miles. Hence the question.
  12. P

    Range in app?

Is nobody else curious about this then? Tesla webchat said it is wrong, but I assumed they were wrong.
  13. P

    Range in app?

Haha, thanks for using your limited ability to answer a technical question. The most stressful part of ownership so far is the disbelief of defensiveness in this thread.
  14. P

    Range in app?

OK so the range stated by the app is not intended to be the rated range (whether EPA or WLTP). Despite what Tesla says (manual and webchat), this is actually a range that takes various factors into consideration. Do you have any evidence for this please? Are you sure your car doesn't have an...
  15. P

    Range in app?

It is absolutely not this or unreasonable belief in rated range versus real range. I am fully aware of the difference. You buy a car which has a rated 0-60 of 5 seconds. You are fully aware that achieving 5 seconds depends on your ability and it might be a lot slower. When the car arrives, it...
  16. P

    Range in app?

Still missing the point. Simple technical query. Should the app and car reported range after charging be the EPA or WLTP range (and therefore close to 350 miles at 100%) as per the manual and Tesla webchat, or should it be something else. If it should be rated range, why is mine 50 miles too...
  17. P

    Range in app?

No, as written several times in here, I fully understand the difference between a rated range and a real world range. It is absolutely not a question of this. I’m concerned that Tesla states that the rated range should be delayed in the app and I’m not close to the rated range. That makes me...
  18. P

    Range in app?

Thanks. That helps, but the performance is now 352 miles WLTP and if I slide the bar to 100% I am getting just 304 miles (275 at 90%). So it sounds like you get the rated mileage in the app which is what I read on the Tesla website. So why am I getting roughly 50 miles less than the rated range...
  19. P

    Range in app?

Ok, so despite what this page indicates: Range Tips after charging, the app is not supposed to state rated range, it states an adjusted range?
  20. P

    Range in app?

Thanks, but I don’t think I can phrase my question in any more ways to make it any clearer that what I’m asking is not answered in the above. Should the app display the rated range or the estimated range based on driving habits, weather etc. My understanding is the rated range is what is...
  21. P

    Range in app?

I think my point has been misunderstood. It’s not about whether the car achieves its rated range or whether I should believe the estimated range. Should the range in the app when charged be the rated range or not? The Tesla website suggests it should be. If it should be and it’s not, it makes...
  22. P

    Range in app?

Thanks both, but my reading was that the range displayed there should be the rated range, not the adjusted range taking into consideration other factors. This is what the Tesla site says. Is this not true?
  23. P

    Range in app?

I collected my refresh model 3 performance on Friday. It had 12 miles on it and now has 200 miles with one charge cycle from around 100 to 30%. I’ve charged it to 90% since and it is reporting 275 miles range in the app. I read that this should be the rated range, so this should be more like 317...

    2019/20 Orders and Deliveries [closed]

Maybe I am missing the obvious, but where do you report defects present on delivery? Just via “service” on the app? I can’t see relevant options such as paint defect or misaligned trim so I wondered if there was somewhere more relevant. thanks

Got my performance today at 4:30. Really pleased. Quick check over suggests everything is fine and cameras seem to work. Just the rear boot is misaligned and catches on the bumper at the bottom right. Will check in daylight.

Not if the camera is still not available, or the modification is not available. Unless buyers are happy to have a delay. I don’t dispute the other points, just the above comment that somehow they should have fixed the camera issue during manufacture. edit: sorry this was a response to the...

    2019/20 Orders and Deliveries [closed]

The premise of what you’re saying is flawed though. Do you stop the entire production run or shipping process or carry on and fix it later? You fix it later. Tesla’s method for production and shipping in bulk within each quarter doesn’t allow for any other option.

Smart Pro / Pod Point requirements and replacing with TWC

You need to understand that unless the Tesla connector has changed, it needs an earth rod and a type B RCD (this is not a B-curve RCBO, be very careful on this!). The Tesla connector is a fairly basic device. A type B RCD is still quite rare and takes a lot of space in your consumer unit/needs...

I didn’t even manage to get this right. “May” be made in China.

Model 3 SR+ (Europe) No Heat Pump?

Neither Noway nor the U.K. are in the EU, but both are in Europe. It’s easier to classify it as SR+ LHD models sold to European markets are made in China. SR+ RHD models for Europe (really only the U.K. and Ireland) are still made in the US.

OK, just got my text, M3P white with black, ordered around end of September/1st October 2020 (lease so not sure exactly when the order was made). VIN provided 5th November. Date provided of 11th December (Manchester).

My 635d is due one too and I’m not going to put it through another and just go through we buy any car. It will still have a few weeks left but it doesn’t seem to make a big difference. If I sold it privately, I’d definitely have to get a new mot but get much more money, so ahh I’m still split.

I might be in the same position. Ordered the same car on the same date (give or take a few days as it is a business lease so who knows how quick they are to actually order). I got a VIN last Wednesday, with a planned date of 28th Nov - 4th Dec. However, I spoke to Tesla on the live chat today...

Leasing Model 3 via Salary sacrifice

As a comparison, NHS fleet solutions will give the same deal (insurance, maintenance, 10k, 36 months) for £658, but the pension reduction will make the net cost less than non-NHS employees would pay, hence NHS fleet solutions does not need to be as competitive on the gross price.
  36. P

Leasing Model 3 via Salary sacrifice

The NHS deals tend to be very poor gross as they do not need to be as competitive, and the net result is reasonable as pension contributions are included in the "gross to net" calculation. Furthermore, some people quote with insurance and/or maintenance, or without both. For instance, NHS fleet...

I ordered (through third party lease) close to 1st October (perhaps 29th September like you). Model 3 performance in white with black interior. I got my vin from the lease company last Wednesday and delivery range of 28th nov to 4th December. It was an M vin and Tesla confirmed that it is a...

    2020 Shipping Movements

Not air tight. It needs to retain a certain pressure for a certain period of time. An electrical room with gas suppression can have quite a lot of minor holes before it fails. I suspect that it’s not too difficult for ships compared to normal rooms as the volume to surface area is very large...

Thanks both, very exciting. Whilst M means 2021, I guess there is nothing to say that some of the 2021 models could have had pre-fresh equipment? I posted as soon as I got the email as I know that so few people have mentioned P models (if at all).

I am with LeasingOptions through my employer, but when the refresh happened I bothered them a lot for a VIN and to make sure I would get a refreshed model. That might be why they gave me a VIN, because I was impatient with them! I have not yet heard from Tesla to see if they can tell me what...

Leasing Model 3 via Salary sacrifice
