    charging notification barrage

I had this happen last night. I am on 28.1 and latest beta of IOS and Mac OS betas though I doubt if that had anything to do with it. I have attached a PDF file with the information from TeslaFi. Here are images as well.

Climate Change / Global Warming Discussion

I know that the NASA METCAL program understands what it is as I have worked with them in the past. However, the term is often loosely thrown around by lay people that don't know what it means. Most lay people think it means adjusting something so it matches a reference value. That is not what...

    2018.28.1

Anything new in 28.2? Seems awful close to 28.1, I wonder if they found some bug in 28.1 that needed an update with a fix.

    2018.28.1

About a month ago at Tesla SC, the SA told me that 26 would have the initial Bluetooth echo fix but the more permanent and final fix would be in 28. I'm curious to know if anyone with 28 has noticed this fix?

What I Learned About My Model 3 on a 3,409 Mile Road Trip

I think we all keep waiting for the ability to add waypoints. By the way is the web site a betterrouzteplanner.com working for anyone? I keep getting no route found and on the road it didn't show my saved routes even though I was logging in. It seems to be broken now.

What I Learned About My Model 3 on a 3,409 Mile Road Trip

I think the navigation system needs an option to avoid secondary roads unless they are the only way to get to a particular destination (usually the final leg of the destination only) or to display alternate routes and let one select the route.

What I Learned About My Model 3 on a 3,409 Mile Road Trip

Those were places I stopped for the night, most but not all were SC locations too but I charged at other locations as well. I have iPhone Xs (Wife and I) and we are on Verizon. I have read that Tesla uses AT&T and that appeared to be confirmed on road trip as well as at my house. At my house...

What I Learned About My Model 3 on a 3,409 Mile Road Trip

I just looked and the black dams are up and covered with bugs. I assume the radiator behind is also covered with bugs. I am going out of town today in my other electric car (A Bolt) so I can't take the time to clean the radiator today but I will check it tomorrow and update with my findings...

What I Learned About My Model 3 on a 3,409 Mile Road Trip

I have seen it, many years ago. :) Now have you seen the bugs in these areas. It was a constant battle to keep the windshield and front clear of bugs...lots and lots of bugs. We have so few in CA. Lots of nuts and fruits though! :)

What I Learned About My Model 3 on a 3,409 Mile Road Trip

A few things I forgot to mention, I saw very few Teslas on this trip, the most were in the Denver area. I was surprised that there would only be no one at the Super Chargers or only 1 or occasionally 2. St George Utah and Baker, CA had the most at 2. The Tesla owners I encountered and got to...

Climate Change / Global Warming Discussion

I'll put it to you very simply. It comes down to the ability to conduct accurate measurements. This requires calibrated instruments. These instruments must have their calibration traceable too NIST. This means that the standard used to perform the calibration measurement must be minimally 4...

Climate Change / Global Warming Discussion

Like many, you fail to understand the science of measurement (Metrology). Every measurement has components of error. How the measuring instrument is calibrated (the reference standard used), the accuracy of the reference standard, the repeatability of the measurements, the external factors...

Climate Change / Global Warming Discussion

At the risk of upsetting many of you, I will say that Man Made Global Warming is at best a theory and more realistically a hypothesis without proof. I have worked on math modeling of real world phenomena over numerous years with other scientists and mathematicians. For a model to accurately...

Need help cleaning front window (streaks impossible to remove)

Steel Wool #0000 fine will remove most crud that is on the window. It will feel smooth. Then I use Optimum No Rinse followed by a ceramic coating like Gyeon Cure (a top coating with excellent hydrophobic properties). My windows are streak free and water flies off.

    Model 3 won’t start, help?

Let's see, out of 30,000+ vehicles sold you have less than 10 reports of 12V battery issues or 0.03%. Doesn't sound like so many to me.

    Model 3 won’t start, help?

    1. The car can actually still be driven. The AC, interior lights, etc. are all computer controlled from the MCU. 2. You can open the Frunk by using a small 9V battery and a couple of wires by opening the tow hook cover and connecting to the leads that come to the cover.

Lack of 360 degree camera (birds eye view)

Why Tesla refuses to add a feature its customers have repeatedly asked for is the big mystery to me. The self parking feature works so poorly it is virtually unusable and the location of the ultrasonic sensors it too high for detecting curbs that you can scrape your spoiler on or curbs to rub...

Firmware 9 in August will start rolling out full self-driving features!!!

I am a non-practicing lawyer so don't take this as legal advice. The problem as I see it is that as in any contract, unless you can allege a tort and prove it (such as fraud), you only have a breach of contract action. The ready for breach of contract is almost always money and you are limited...

Model 3 owners who have owned a recent Model S -- which do you prefer?

I owned a late 2016 S 75D and then sold it to buy my 3 after driving a friends 3. There are things I prefer in the S that are hard to put into words but overall I prefer the 3. On the open highway, the S is definitely more comfortable and holds a line better with less effort. It is in my...

Firmware 9 in August will start rolling out full self-driving features!!!

Does anyone here know what the contract for FSD says? If one is relying on the vehicle purchase contract, I believe it precludes class action suits and requires binding arbitration unless you specifically opted out of it via the process specified to opt out. I would not be surprised to find...

    Tesla Solar inverters

The problem with string inverter systems is you have multiple single points of failure. Each panel plus the inverter. With optimizers you still have a single point of failure at the inverter but not with the panels. With micro inverters you eliminate single points of failure. Depending on...

What are you using to clean your seats in the Model 3

I use Optimum No Rinse (ONR) in a spray bottle and a micro fiber towel to wipe it. Cleans nicely, not shiny and haven't had any issues. ONR is a lubricant mild soap and you use distilled water with about an ounce of ONR. Very mild cleaning agent.

    Model 3 Software Updates

The echo is horrendous on V24, worse than on V21 by a lot. My wife says she can't understand what I am saying and intermittently it cuts her out completely too so I can't hear her at all. How this team manages to screw up old features with the release of new features is a mystery to me. It...

    Model 3 Software Updates

Last night when I looked it was out to 40 model 3s and over 1,000 S & Xs. Why so slow to 3s is a mystery. One area that Tesla really needs to improve is communications. A simple bulletin put out to Electrek and the EV publications or email to owners could say, "Software version 2018.24.1 is...

    New SDG&E rate: EV-TOU-5

I don't think you calculated it correctly. The $16 is a charge independent of usage that you pay every month to be on the plan. Then you take your 250 KWh time the rate of $0.0937 to it would be $16 + $23.43 = $39.43. Effective price = $0.1577/KWh. Suppose you only used 100KWh. You monthly...
