Ok so IO hadn’t controlled my charges for a few days now. If I disconnect the car from the Octopus account and re connect will I stay on the same tariff (7.5 off peak) or would I be put on the current tariff? Thanks

I had exactly the same issue but left it, took 2.5/3 hours to download!

Thanks, it has literally just popped up saying it’s available to install! I can’t remember any download taking that long on the car before.

I’m currently on 28.2 and 36.5 has been stuck downloading at 50% for a couple of hours now. Anyone else had this? Wondering if I should do a reboot? It’s on a strong Wi-Fi connection with 1Gb so not struggling on that front.

I am sure I read, correctly or not, that they will be going to 800v but also have a substantial amount of battery storage, hopefully enabling them to be installed at more locations and also reducing charging costs.

Maybe excessive but could you use your existing chargers as is to use solar/PW in the summer and they have another dumb charger wired as mentioned above to use with IO? Not sure if it would work as I have neither solar or battery!

The sensible thing would be to have peak slightly above the cap and keep off peak at 7.5p IMO, as you say if blended is where they base the cap on it won't be attractive to me at all!

You don't get switched until you have successfully completed the test. Just stay as you are until you get your car, then in the Octopus app you can click to switch to IO and it will ask you to perform the test charge and then the switch is pretty much instant.

Well, strange one last night. Plugged in last night and had the charging schedule confirmed but it only got to 78% rather than 100% in the allotted times. I have 3 phase but makes me wonder if IO makes allowances for the charge being slower at initial ramp up and as SOC gets higher? I may try...

I have also set my car to only charge off peak, it stops the car charging when you initially plug in before IO takes control, plus IO has had a few glitches with charging before but since seeing the car in this east it's been flawless, touch wood it stays this way!

Everyone will have different requirements but 13kW is around 56/57amp so if you have a 60 or 80 amp limit you are getting close, 100 amp will have a bit of room unless you try using a cooker, shower, kettle etc at the same time.

I think you will find the random charging is to do with new regulations where charging must start a random time within 10 minutes of being plugged in, had the same query on my Zappi which someone answered on Facebook

I think it's more likely to be slower speeds, I always find short journeys kills the range as so much of the battery is used to warn everything up to optimal temperature (I think that's the reason anyway!)

I can only comment on mine but that graph/teslafi has always tallied up to what the car/app show when set to 100% at that time, maybe the newer models calculate it differently. As another example of influences if I've not charged to 100% for a while and do a full charge, the range can go up by...

Don't worry about it, it fluctuates based on a number of factors including weather, temperature, journey type... even down to software updates and they have just added more factors. This is a report of estimated range on my car from teslafi.

The only downside I can see for you is that the car won't sleep when IO is monitoring the car to see if it's plugged in etc but if you don't drive much you could turn smart charging off in the Octopus app and just switch it on when you need to charge your car. You would still get the 6 hours of...

Someone told me they all generally up the prices a month or so before new caps are announced so may be better moving before, losing a few days at a lower rate may be better than having nearly a year at a higher rate!

You will be getting what the display is showing. The car will max out at 48amp (3*16) which on 230 gives 11kW but if the voltage is higher, say 250 that gives 12kW (48*250)

My guess would be that it's a trial to see if people that live local but don't have any way to charge at home would charge when demand is lower to ease demand at peak times if they could save some money?
