Bad news. I spoke to the shop that had a backdoor through BroadR-reach. So the method we were planning on using has been addressed and blocked by Tesla. Back to square one. No token no access.

So for more information regarding the task at hand. I found out that we may be able to access the gateway using BroadR-reach and plugging straight into the MCU. More information to follow.

Glad I only spent $330 for the pair. Not sure if I'll sell them or keep them for future retrofit if/when available. I will be going to one of my local shops this weekend. So latest update from the SC is that they will not be able to do it because they said it would throw codes and would not be configerable.

I got them from ebay. I started with a 2020 model 3 performance stealth. But I have gotten all the parts swapped so it's its full performance with performance brakes, pedals, suspension and spoiler. So I know the service and parts guys pretty well by now. I think at this point they just say here...

fwiw, the SC rep did tell me I was attempting a retrofit that was not yet available.

So they pushed an update and as expected it just make the existing old lights work. Did not work for new lights. They told me to bring the car in for diagnostics to the SC. Not sure if I will be charged if it isn't working with I leave with my car.

Update from another service center. They are looking into this matter and trying to push the correct firmware to my car. Fingers crossed. Will report back as soon as I know.

Tesla Tech came out and said he doesn't know how to configure it. He offered to help but didn't know how.

Yes. Just need to remove the frunk tray. I tried yesterday and got the connector out. It's a little tight but doable. I also plugged in the new light and it didn't work just like that. I figured it wouldnt but I felt lucky lol

I'm did the extension so I can test the headlight while configuring. I was not going to swap out my lights before I got them working. This extension allows me to leave my new lights in the frunk while being plugged in. Sorry about that I wasn't clear in my earlier post. I'm trying to find a tech...

Nice that Tesla outside the US still honors warranty for something that isnt working correctly. Here in California. Their mantra is deny the issue til the user forgets.

My sleeve approach was a failure. I look forward to any solutions you guys may have. I have 4 cameras total now and I'd be willing to experiment.

Has anyone tried to make sort of a sleeve that fits around the whole round camera lens. Light may be leaking in from the top inside the housing. If we make a sleeve out of thin material like black vinyl. We might be able to block the light. I'm gonna try this. Will report back with findings...

They didnt replace anything. I had to pay out of pocket to fix this. I am not happy about this. How is it functioning normally if the image is washed out at night. Even AP trips over itself when making lane changes due to this flashing

So I replaced the cameras myself yesterday. $150 each. With the new black ones and my right one is the only one that is still having the glare issue. They are rev C cameras. Not sure if this is addressed in the later revisions.

Has anyone gotten repeaters replaced under warranty due to this issue. I have the chrome version of the fender repeaters and at night when the blinker is on it washes out the image.

Does this toolbox allow us to reconfigure parts such as the headlights and taillights? For instance can I separate the blinker and brake light using this toolbox? (granted that I have EU tails installed.)

Has anyone with both sets of headlights tried using the old ballast on new headlights and then seeing if it will talk to the car? Not sure if it would even fit. Just a thought, since the processing power of the entire headlight lives in the ballast.

Based off what I'm looking at. It would appear that the "Slave ID" for the new headlight may differ and the new headlight in turn ignores the call outs from the master to do anything. We got any EE guys in the forum?

Does anyone have a 2021 model 3 wiring diagram to compare? I have highlighted the connector for the headlights. Pin 1 is Power Pin 2 is LIN <----- My guess is some sort of PWM signal. Might have to hook it up to the oscilloscope to figure out. Pin 3 is Ground

You need to get the 4 pin rear lights that have fog and reverse light. The model Y has the 4 pin lights. Then you need to get 4 position mcon connectors and jump the reverse light wire from the left to the right light connector. That will give you 1 fog and 2 reverse lights
