I think a big thing that contributes to this is the belief that getting a Tesla is still going to be a 120k+ purchase (many people assume the pricing is the same as the roadster). But vaulting into the $ sooner or more often may make things worse.

There is one option it seems you can't downgrade on a Sig, the leather interior. I had been waiting to see the pricing/options if I would upgrade to Sig, but with that requirement I won't do it.

got a response from Tesla that the Beta leaves Sunday night for transport to the Chicago store opening.

I didn't think they were open today, have to wait til Sat/Sunday? (I couldn't make it, but plan to stop in... sounds like the Beta may be gone after Sunday so I can't even wait til Monday)

You do need to have had income to require >7500 in federal taxes for the year, if you have a zero or low income year you won't get a refund.
