    Tesla Owners in Nova Scotia

Too bad that I didn't know earlier, we are arriving in Halifax from TO at about 11 AM on the 4th, but heading straight to Cape Breton. I'm a TO owner, but have reason to get out to NS often. If you have any discussions at your get-together, it would be great if you have a strategy on how to...

Trip Planning - Toronto to Victoria

Any good suggestions? There is such a big blank spot in Canada from Barrie, ON to Alberta, so I expect to go through the US for a big portion, but would like to get back up into Canada when it is practical again. Of course, the Tesla route planner has me going through Northern California. I'd...

Recommendations we could really use on next update!

This is my list. I submitted these to Tesla back in March. I don't think that any of them would be hard to implement, except maybe the last one about the colours: Pre-Conditioning: Instead of being predictive, why can't we just explicitly schedule a time in advance? Battery Pre-Conditioning...

Early P85D, lots of minor issues, anybody else?

Blaz, I have one of those early P85Ds. There were some delivery issues with getting it to Canada during the Christmas/YE rush so I didn't take delivery until late January, but it was built in early December. I'm sorry that you have had so many issues and I can understand your frustration. I...

New Coffee Machine at Lawrence Service Centre

I thought that I had covered off 80% of the 'significant' threads that are out there in one thread. BTW, the coffee was good. Just no baristas as anyone would expect in a high end service centre.

New Coffee Machine at Lawrence Service Centre

Yes, an upgraded model with a 3.5 cm touch screen. I would like to say that it's entirely electric, but you need to add water and coffee pods. I guess the water could come from those imaginary Toyota hydrogen machines. Just comes in piano black as they must have had issues with the matte...

    HOV Green plate access (ON)

    Nice!

    HOV Green plate access (ON)

To be specific, the transit/bike lanes in the city are not HOV lanes. A green license plate will not help you there - even before July 1. The HOV lanes are only on the 400 series hwys as far as I am aware.

Changed from order confirmed to in production queue

The best source of information regarding when you can realistically expect delivery is your local DS. But them - lots. That's their job and they do it well.

How did you pass the time?

My wife was pretty tolerant with my new obsession, but when I went into the Tesla store at Yorkdale for the umpteenth time (knew everyone by first name), she would go off somewhere else. Her attitude - cool that it doesn't burn gas and pollute, but it's your money. Now she tells everyone about...

In case anyone was worried about Tesla sales volumes ...

Great to see, but they look a little crowded behind the barbed wire. Do they get any exercise time?
  16. B

How did you pass the time?

Sorry Allanhof. There is no cure. How many times a day can you go to the store or SC without looking too weird? As for a few more 'test' drives. It's one of those beautiful hurts.

Have any P85D owners received their EV rebate yet?

Just got mine on Friday past. Took delivery end of Jan. One less follow-up call :)

How many days do you think the drive would be to Halifax? Is 3 days pushing it since the charging at Fredericton and Moncton would take quite a while?

S70D at the Lawrence SC in Toronto

I was by there this evening to check out the Next Gen seats one more time with my wife (still waiting for them from my original P85D delivery in January). They showed us the seats in an S70D. It looks great, which is to say it looks just like all the other MSs. The sales guy said that Tesla...

Tesla just changed the competitive landscape (vs Audi/Mercedes/BMW AWD Grand Coupes).

I like your chart a lot. Some suggestions though: Show torque alongside HP; Model S is much roomier than any of those cars; Show storage capacity. It would be more difficult, but a 3 year ownership model that includes electric vs gas costs, maintenance projected would help. To be transparent...

    Wiki Canadian Trip Planning

RWatson485 , We are planning to go from Toronto to Halifax and then to Cape Breton in August. I have dual chargers, but haven't yet bought the Chademo adapter as I don't see very many listed in Canada. I would be very interested to hear how your trip goes or what your plan is before you head...

Personally I prefer to hang out in the Canadian forum. Most of the responses are more relevant - and they're written in English :) ... ou français

Anyone in Canada receive the new 6.2 update yet?

I got mine yesterday. So far so good. TAAC seems to be smoother, now have blind spot warning. Don't want to test emergency braking. Valet mode is there, but haven't tried it yet. Nav seems much better, still can't get to Halifax or Northern Michigan very easily, but at least it tells me that.

Why should a Mall have EV parking/chargers?

I live near Bayview Village, but often go to Yorkdale just for the 'neatness' of being able to plug in. BV will be missing out on some good high end customers if they don't. As well, BV is always looking for that special cachet as they are a high end mall. It also makes them look like a good...

Atlantic Canada - any Tesla owners out there?

Thanks Cottonwood and BB. So going through US could work then, right? Looks like I'll need to invest another $450 for that Chademo adapter, but it would be cool to be able to drive all the way to Cape Breton. To tell you the truth, I wouldn't even be thinking about it if I still had an ICE...

Pano roof open day on Thursday?

Atlantic Canada - any Tesla owners out there?

Poweredbyrain and elecanuck, Thanks for the straight forward info. I think that 400K a day is just not enough, but that is what I was wondering as well. I would need to get closer to 800K a day to have it make sense. Maybe not this summer, eh? BTW, love the Stan Rogers references. I have a...

    Horrible Headline at CBC

MKNOX, I think that you are right on. My understanding is that Electric is about 4 times as efficient as gas in moving a car. 80% of the energy in a gas car is wasted in the form of heat and other forms of energy (sound/noise) that do not move the car forward. Even if the fuel to create...

    New member with questions

On the dryer outlet ... you might not need any extension as you get a charging cable and 220V adapter with the Tesla. On P85D ... that's what I have. I have never had anything closest to the fastest car on the road before, and I love it. Two negatives to consider; you get a little less range...

Atlantic Canada - any Tesla owners out there?

I have tried it. It shows lots of charging spots, but it's not clear as to how quickly or slow each stop will be. I was hoping that there are some Atlantic Canadians out there who know what the best spots are. Seems to me that I would be stopping for more than 4 hours most of the time.

    New member with questions

    1. No hidden charges. A few extras that you should expect like license plate charge, etc. But nothing substantial. BTW, I'm from TO. The Toronto store staff is really good at telling you everything re Canada and Ontario. I would call them or the Montreal store. 2. I have the winter...

Atlantic Canada - any Tesla owners out there?

I'm from Toronto, but I would like to drive out to Halifax and maybe into Cape Breton. I don't see any good charging options once you get east of Quebec City. Does anyone from the Atlantic Provinces have any suggestions - or is this just not a good idea yet?

Where do you send recommendations for new features?

Where is the best place to go to recommend new features? I'm a new P85D owner as of late January with Air Suspension and 19" snows (northern climate). I have a few recommendations that I would like to see considered for SW upgrades. Is this the place to post them or is there a mailbox at Tesla...

    TO to the Big Apple

The advice is great - and Kalud, thanks for the generous offer. From everyone's feedback though, it looks like this might not be the most practical trip in the winter until there are more Superchargers in place. I might consider flying :(

    TO to the Big Apple

Thanks folks. I guess for now, the best route is through Kingston. And yes, it will be a winter (January) ride. I'll probably need to find something between Kingston and Albany.

    TO to the Big Apple

Is there 'currently' (pun intended) a way to go from TO to NYC with Superchargers? If not, does anyone know good alternatives to Superchargers so that I can get to New York in one day?

Anyone slept in their car during winter?

I'm very interested to hear how this works out for you. Also, not clear, but will you be plugging in at the wedding venue? If so what kind of outlet do they have. I'm considering a trip from TO to S florida in January and was wondering if sleeping in the car is a safe/viable idea. If it is...

Who in Canada will order the new P85D?

I'm late to this thread, but my P85D is to be delivered to me in Toronto in the last week of December. Grey, tan, black headliner, Obece matt, new seats. No spoiler, no Interior Package. I don't expect to get any Boxing Day deal on it, But it will be a great pre New Year's present to myself.

    Pending Orders: Should we convert?

I made the decision yesterday to change my order from an S85 to an S85D. It will delay my delivery from late November to probably March now. This hurts as the wait since late July has already been difficult. But the car will miss most of one winter - and who knows what other enhancements...
