    2021 collision repair in MA?

https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/threads/the-blues-may-have-played-its-last-song.247807/ I'm told it may not be totaled. Does anyone have recommendations on a good collision shop? I'm working from Tesla's list at Collision Support | Tesla Two places stand out: Hollis Auto Body in Ashland...

Any hotels in the White Mountains offer charging?

Even better would be to use PlugShare (.com or the app), since there is no reason to exclude J1772s.

The BlueS may have played it's last song

The interior screens went black about 2 minutes after the accident. I didn't think to turn off the blinkers. The FD pulled the HV battery disconnect. This morning the car was totally dead and unresponsive; I suspect the 12V died overnight. I took a few things out of the car before they towed...

The BlueS may have played it's last song

Tesla Roadside called me a few minutes after the accident to ask if I needed help. However, the accident happened right near the Police/FD station and they were already there.

The BlueS may have played it's last song

The car puts on the emergency blinkers automatically when it detects an accident.

The BlueS may have played it's last song

At just over 4.5 yrs and 51K miles, The BlueS may have played it's last song. The other car was making a left out of a driveway and pulled out right in front of me without looking (it's really clear on the TeslaCam video). I hit his front driver's side and turned his car 90 degrees. You can see...

Is Tesla model S good for 5 people including 3 kids?

3 kids will fit in the back seat just fine, like any other full size sedan. I can hear "he touched me" already. Which was why we got a minivan when we had 3 kids.

    Supercharger - Ellsworth, ME

Me, too. My wife just told me we're going to Acadia in May, so I'll get to use it sooner than I expected (since we were just up there in August).

Sunday River Ski in Maine- 3 Tesla Chargers

FWIW, in the past I've often seen a LEAF using the South Ridge destination chargers using a JDapter Stub. For instance, back in July I couldn't get any of the South Ridge destination chargers to work on our Model X. Since someone was already using the J1772, I ended up going down the road and...

Sunday River Ski in Maine- 3 Tesla Chargers

That outlet was removed last winter when they added a pass-through road to connect the two overflow lots. I deleted the entry on PlugShare in July when I found the outlet gone. There is now a J1772 at the South Ridge Lodge, in addition to the 3 Tesla Destination chargers. The J1772 works...

Mirrors unfold "randomly" in my garage

I keep my Model S unlocked in my garage via the "Exclude Home" setting on Walk-Away Door Lock This means the mirrors never fold in the first place, and the alarm can't go off. (I can't keep my Model X unlocked when in our garage because of the problem I described in Driver profile selection...

    Supercharger - Ellsworth, ME

Actually, the last two times we stayed there I literally did do a bunch of laps around the island. This last trip (the first without an ICE) we stayed at a place with an L2, so that made it easy.

    Supercharger - Ellsworth, ME

Given how far it is from Bar Harbor (it's 20 miles / 32 minutes away from the place we stayed at this past summer), at least it's next to a grocery store. It would be preferable to have a SuC on MDI, but this is the next best thing.

    Supercharger - Guilderland, NY

The map currently shows Colonie as "temporarily closed". Is it? We're headed to western NY tomorrow and had planned to charge at Colonie while picking something up at L.L.Bean (as usual). (and there doesn't seem to be a Colonie thread; supercharge.info's discuss link comes here for both...

    Solar Panels

Do you have enough land that a ground-mounted installation is possible?
  22. jlv1

    Solar Panels

We bought our panels in 2015 and they paid for themselves in 5.5 years. But the SREC problem no longer exists in MA; selling the renewable energy credits nets me about $2800/yr, which is what helped pay them off. The replacement program in MA, SMART, isn't as lucrative as I hear (but I don't...

They should put a Supercharger in Bath ME

That's a 3 minute walk. If your car stops charging before you can go to either of those bathrooms and back, then you didn't need to Supercharge that much in the first place. Hop in the car and enjoy the rest of your trip! (since I can't plot a walk into the store, I extended this a little...

They should put a Supercharger in Bath ME

I drive up to Maine often, including to the Rockland/Camden area. I often stop at the Freeport SuC. Given the proximity of the existing Superchargers at Kennebunk, Portland, and Freeport, IMHO adding another just 15 miles further up Route 1 in Bath would be unhelpful to those making such a trip.
  25. jlv1

They should put a Supercharger in Bath ME

The nearest bathroom is in the L.L.Bean main store on the 2nd floor - it is the large building directly across the parking lot from the SuperCharger. It's a short walk, but you need to walk around the back of the building to get inside.

New Service Centers Coming To The Northeast!

About a year ago. I see this on TeslaFi's support forum: https://support.teslafi.com/en/communities/1/topics/18062-why-are-my-hv-battery-contactors-cycling-every-2-minutes Probably the discussion should move to Contactors opening/closing repeatedly (FWIW I've not noticed this, but I'm going...

New Service Centers Coming To The Northeast!

I use TeslaFi and I got a "Replace 12V battery soon warning" in my Model S, so that wasn't true for me. (That was at 3.5 years and the battery was replaced under warranty.)

Plaid owners - Tired of Plaid?

Yes, but only because its currently the only way to get all the EAP features. (if this was 3 years ago, I'd say get EAP and not FSD)

Tesla infotainment system upgradeable from MCU1 to MCU2

My Model S only has AP2. The MCU2 upgrade enabled full Dashcam/Sentry. (IIRC, my FSD HW3 came in 2 months after the MCU2, since the HW3 was backordered. I'd have to look back up thread to doubt check that)

New Stores in the North East

Maybe you should look up the difference between a car dealership and a store. Hence my "wink". I've had 5 test drives from the Natick sales store, going back to 2014. Four of the times we took the car on the Mass Pike. I don't know why you think there is a problem with highway access. But...

Storm Watch failed us again [in MA, Late July 2021]

I also was contacted by Telsa about this thread when I started it and sent them my serial. They've not said anything since, but it's probably enough if they use this as input to improve Storm Watch.

Storm Watch failed us again [in MA, Late July 2021]

My reserve is set to 100%. When a VPP (Connected Solution) discharge happens, it drains my PWs to 20% -- unless a Storm Watch event is being called for. That's why I made the title of this thread "Storm Watch failed us again". No Storm Watch event meant we lost power with under 25% available...

    Supercharger - Ellsworth, ME

I just spent a week in Rockland (actually, the car was there, plugged into a wall outlet while I was on the Schooner Heritage), and then drove up Rt. 1 (through Camden) up to Bar Harbor for a few nights. Rt. 1 traffic through Camden seems to be always backed up. I hope the don't put the SuC...

    Premium Connectivity Yearly Subscription?

Another reason for paying for it on a yearly basis (even if there is no discount): there is no grace period when they fail to bill you. I had my premium connectivity disabled in the middle of a vacation trip. Important thing I learned: the credit card in your account is not the credit card...

Storm Watch failed us again [in MA, Late July 2021]

Correct. I was talking about VPP as it applies to me, where there is compensation. I am in MA. If there wasn't compensation, then I wouldn't be part of the VPP. But the thread isn't necessary about VPP or compensation; it is the problem of PW only charging from the grid when there is a Storm...

Why is there no option for yearly (or lifetime) subscription to Premium Connectivity?

As I mentioned, just like my Model S.

Storm Watch failed us again [in MA, Late July 2021]

I thought I'd previously posted here on my earlier Storm Watch disappointment, but it was elsewhere. That was less than a month ago when the remnants of Elsa blew through. We were only in a Flood Warning, which also doesn't trigger a Storm Watch event. However, we had 60MPH+ wind gusts. We live...

Storm Watch failed us again [in MA, Late July 2021]

I spoke to someone at Tesla Energy. Storm Watch events are tied to specific warning language from the NWS, and "Severe Thunderstorm Warning" is not something that triggers an event. While I like the VPP payment (coincidentally enough, I just got my first check yesterday), I'm rethinking about...

Storm Watch failed us again [in MA, Late July 2021]

The grid came back on. We're now at 25%. And the area just north of us has 2000 people without power. But because there is no Storm Watch event, the PW aren't charging and won't until we get PV going tomorrow. We are in a Severe Thunderstorm Warning... but that doesn't trigger Storm Watch...

You might want to start a new thread for that. This thread is about the updated highway exit numbers in Massachusetts.

Storm Watch failed us again [in MA, Late July 2021]

We have a massive thunderstorm coming through Massachusetts right now, and no Storm Watch event was declared. I have my PW set as 100% backup, but we're also part of Connected Solutions (Tesla Virtual Power Plant), and we output 72% of our 2 PW back out to the grid this afternoon. And just 15...

Does tesla prevent EVSE from depleting powerwall during outages

The communication happens between the PW and the car. The EVSE doesn't pay a role; instead, the car just asks for less power. The 'help' in the app goes to this page: https://www.tesla.com/support/energy/powerwall/mobile-app/vehicle-charging-during-power-outage and it says (emphasis mine):

Insurance - Assigning a dollar value to Lifetime Unlimited Supercharging

My personal opinion is that FUSC is worth about $2-3K ('to me'). I can back that up with numbers from TeslaFi (which if you don't use, I suggest you should! See this post for some reasons why: Best Tesla Apps? -- my TMC username works as a referral code gets you a 4 week trial). Here's a...

Supercharger - Charlton, MA (I-90 westbound service plaza)

When I had to make a trip down to NY and back on Wednesday (7/7), I noticed the Charlton WB were offline that day. I stopped at the EB on the way home.
