It all depends on the pricing of the base model but I think I'll be going for the solid roof to save on cost. I'm going for the metallic blue paint option so I would expect the roof to match. I just hope the front windscreen still goes back as far as it does on the prototype photos.

Another nice thing is that you can charge your S 60 to 100% without worrying about battery degradation, because the cells aren't actually being charged to their limit. If the 3 is not software limited then you definitely don't want to charge to 100% if you can help it.

Not true. You can get a base C-Class directly from Mercedes for £28k. You can actually get a better-than-base model from sites like CarWow which find you the best deals on new cars from dealerships. My brother drives a 2 litre C-Class with various options and he paid less than £30k for it...

Point taken, but that is the market Tesla are competing with - at least in the UK (and Europe), which can get Mercedes and Audis cheaper than in the US.

$35k is a heck of a lot of money. In the UK, you can get a gorgeous Mercedes C-Class for less than that - and the "trims" in the car are excellent.

250 miles is definitely a lot better than 215, but when you factor in real world conditions / lots of motorway driving it still looks like it'll be under 200 for most people.

Another thing to remember is that all of us will probably only charge the battery to 80%, 85% to guard against degradation and will only charge to 100% on very rare occasions... so 220 miles is actually going to be a lot lower if we're going 80% with real world driving.
